I'm going to say Darksiders, if only because it's the only game that pissed me off so much that I threw the plastic game case into a wall with enough force to create a three-finger wide hole in the drywall. I've played worse game for certain, but that game just irritated me on a level I really can't explain.

Any of the Diablo games. I can't say that I hate them. But I just can't understand what people liked so much about them. It just feels to me like: Click, kill, click, kill, click, kill, click...crap crap crap, I'm dead, time to restart.

I suppose I can see why people enjoy them, I just.....don't.

I have two, kinda.

The first is LoZ: Ocarina of Time.
I mostly hate this game because of all the infinite praise is gets for it's mood, it's characters and the story, all of which I find lacking. It's nit a HORRIBLE game, I just dislike the generic setpieces, and more importantly, the praise it gets for it. Contrast Majora's Mask, where every character has a name and a personality, even the ones who have non impact on the plot.

My second is Morrowind. I mostly can't stand this game because of the combat. I don't know, I'm supposed to be the hero of the land, but I think there's something wrong with a game where I can't go in the first cave I see without getting murdered by a single dude. Maybe I'm just missing something, though. Possibly literally, as I typically play as an archer.

Catchpa: Shoot Through (well played, catchpa.)

Daxter for the PSP. I have defeated this terrible spin off, but I wish I hadn't. It makes no sense to the original storyline of Jak and Daxter (a game series I adore and spent many hours on during my childhood.)
He becomes a bug catcher? Really? Those fucking hive queens that can insta-kill you however weak they are, the poor tie ins to Jak 2 that seem to cheapen it in some way. The way that your bars of bug spray go down ridiculously fast, especially while hovering and all having to be controlled on the original PSP with its horrible single faux-joystick.

It took me so ridiculously long to complete, I picked it up again last year and thought to have another play through, realised all the issues I had with it, put it straight back down. I do however have this odd sense that I should keep it just to have the complete series intact, even if it is the evil many times removed retarded cousin of the entire series.
Dude. Bro. Dudebro. The only thing that stops Daxter from being one of the best entries in the Jak and Daxter series is the small mitigating factor that the Jak and Daxter series contains the three best games on PS2. Regardless, Daxter is far and away the best gaming experience on PSP. Not only does it capture the feel and artstyle of the original games which made them so charming, it takes one of the most memorable characters and fleshes them out into an entire game's worth of content. As for it not making sense, you know the part where Dax says to Jak at the start of Jak 2, "I'll be back before you know it." and then the next screen is "2 years later"? Daxter is what happens in those two years. Stellar game, stellar franchise, don't diss.

Or whatever, I'm just a guy with a different opinion.

Anyway, my most hated game? Probably MW2. Despite having my highest playtime of any game ever, MW2 has caused me enough anguish and rage to earn itself a permanent space on my list of awful, awful experiences that made me want to tear out my own scrotum and feed it to starving animals.

Odin's Sphere. We started as "frenemies". I mean, I love the graphics and the characters. The plot also seemed cool. But the gameplay made me hate it with the passion of a thousand suns. It wasn't that it was hard. Hard I can handle. It's just that it was unfair. They'd toss you into battle against a million enemies and only you to fight them, the enemies' attacks had priority over yours, if you were unlucky enough to walk into a battle unprepared and died, you were stuck in the same environment until you beat the enemies. So you'd respawn right there where you died, basically being forced to do it over and over again until you beat them.

I wanted to play the game. I wanted to be friends with it and run down a hill and sing happy songs. But it drove me away. It made me get rid of it because of the disappointment and anger I felt every time I'd give it a shot, thinking "It'll be different this time, you'll see!". I spit upon you, Odin's Sphere!
weird, I wouldn't have thought of Odin Sphere as 'hard' until the 'Apocalypse' section of the game, but I went out of my way to farm EXP on every map till enemy's became trivial.

as for me?

WoW i guess

WoW is pretty much crap, anything it's doing some one else is doing better else where at this point and only gets a pass for it cause no one is willing to look around and see just how much better other MMOs are

only good thing i can think it has is female Dreanie but that's not really enough to make a get good

Dark Souls comes closest. Its the only game besides maybe NFS: Underground that's driven me close to destroying a controller.

Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox.

After many an hour against a difficult boss and losing time and time again, I finally was winning against it perfectly not getting hit and dishing tons of damage. Then suddenly my xbox 360 turns off and flashes red.

Egoraptor was right about Gaiden.
Which boss were you on? The first one with the nunchucks or one further in? I agree that game is brutal, but I love it so much. Egoraptor is totally right about no strategy game save you in it though. Especially the Alma fight... God damn she's such a ***** lmao.

OT: Uh... Final Fantasy XIII? I love me some Final Fantasy, but 13 is TERRIBLE. In fact it's so bad that I struggle to find words of why it's so bad, so here's a Jontron video that is pretty close:

Sonic Adventure.

I don't like most platformers in general, and I've never been more than ambivalent about any Sonic game I've played, but I have a friend who'd a big sonic fan and insists that the first sonic adventure is really good (though he at least admits that the second is shit). Anyway, we play a lot o video games together (hence all the sonic I've played) and every time we look for suggestions, he brings up sonic adventure.

The best part is that we tried it once for about 5-6 minutes and quit because it sucked.

There are two kinds I think that could produce candidates for this. Uninspired games and/or games with relentless microtransactions/DLC (Madden, Red Dead Redemption [liked the single-player, multiplayer is unplayable without DLC] and many Zynga 'games'), and games that I hate because I wanted to like them a lot more than I do. Mass Effect 3, for ruining the trilogy for me (SO MUCH ANTICIPATION), is the largest one. I am also disppointed generally by the Assassin's Creed series, rather disappointed at the most recent Armored Core for region locking, fake part variety, type-locked stats, tying fire rate to stability, and general other things, and I am a tiny bit bitter about how Dragon's Dogma allows you to do practically whatever you want all the way through the game and THEN tells you if you weren't pure warrior or sorceror since level 10, your build isn't worth a damn against the Ur-Dragon.

Witcher 2.

As the game makes me unleash a stream of frustrated curses and lurk around the room wanting to punch holes in the walls, the game taunts me with whispers of "Hey, everyone else in the world LOVES this game, obviously the problem MUST be with YOU."

Time to piss at least 1 person off...

Minecraft. Not because they ended up trying to make their own game, or even the low quality graphic style. I'm ok with that, and an indie studio can only afford so much. No. I can't stand the game because of the litany of clones that were spawned from it.

And the fans. Because god forbid I don't want to go play in your pointless sandbox game and prefer something with a story. I'm apparently the devil to these people, since I don't even like the game. It bores me, and feels mediocre.

The new DmC, you dare call your self Devil May Cry!? You have no style or pizza! Shame on your villainy and cliche merits!!!
Spunkgargleweewee.
Other M, again, stop killing my favorie characters with bad writing!
and every Resident Evil after 4 that acts like 5, so ORC and 6...

Pretty much, any game that panders to a "broad audience" is my arch nemesis, and must be PUNISHED.

I know this is mostly the entire Escapist's opinion, but I will have to say the Call of Duty franchise as a whole. Just someone even mentioning the game will cause me to have this mental explosion of hatred and fury. I CANNOT STAND the lack of presentation (and story, and good multiplayer..) in the game. I find it appalling. Activision has turned it's players into sheep. Sheep who can NEVER play another game and say "Oh! This is better than CoD!" These sheep play another game like Journey or Halo or Quantum Conundrum or even Half-Life 2 and say "Like this game sucks! Lets go play CoD! IT is like so much better!" But I find that most people I see play CoD have lower attention spans (or IQ) and cannot appreciate something like Portal or Half-Life.

Star Fox Adventures... I'll get you one of these days! *Shakes fist angrily*

Seriously! I was having so much fun until about the 3/4 mark and then the test of frustration fear.

Ok beat that, now what? On rails shooting section! What's that? You can't change the inverted aiming nor the stick sensitivity? God damn... SENSORED. Alright! I'm finally through that section after, like, a year!

What can you throw at me now? Oh another puzzle using the terrible aiming system? OK, well I got this down now! Oh, you mean to say it involves awkward jumping AND a time limit? FFFFFUUUUU....

I beat that game. I beat that game SO hard.

Oh man, you too huh? I've tried very hard, twice, to love that game and I just... can't.

Firstly: OoT N64. 3DS version I can play, but the water temple and having to go into the menu and then the game crashes and sffdugvkcds dg rg dfh nope i can't I GET OUT OF MY HOUSE OOT

Secondly, defending my games:

Back off from the source engine. By dissing the source engine, you're dissing the ID engine, and by dissing the ID engine, you are dissing roughly 50% (possible exaggeration but I wouldn't be surprised if it's true) of all games (inc. CoD [which objectively, can go], jedi knight series, Quake Series, etc,) so just, chill. Put the gun down, and chill out.

It's good to kick back from being a pretentious twat and pick up the xbox controller and just play a dumb game like Cod or Halo.

GTA requires more thought and moral decision than you realize.

that is all.

That skii game for the early windows damn that game made me hate it those annoying yetis that just came out of nowhere and killed the player and if somehow you managed to escape the first it just came more and more until they managed to kill you.
