Usually we go out to a country/western bar, drink, dance (two-step,) and listen to cowboy songs. Sometimes after the bars close we'll goto my friends ranch and shoot beer cans from the back porch.
That sounds fuckin' awesome!

I love cowboy/ country songs, and shooting stuff :) It's things like that that make me wana live in the US at some point in my life.

Wake up, go to classes, come to my house and play some games, go to more classes, eat dinner, play some games, go out with friends, go to sleep around 2-3 in the morning.
That's my usual day.

If I'm out with my mates; pints ina pub and then pints in a pub that stays open late, talk about anything and everything. Leave, food, or maybe not. Home and then bed.

If my g/f is out; same as above just with dirty drunken sex thrown in.

I hardly ever hang out with friends by choice.

They bore me too quickly.

I often go on walks by myself with an Ipod, several books, and a sketchpad.

There's a wonderful forgotten train down the road that I sit on and watch the sunset.

Since I don't have a required time to be home I just wander around the town and drink in the sights, sounds, and life of the late night.

It all sounds very poetic, but really it's just lonely.

I date of course, but I usually split up since they often require plenty of attention and I'm too busy on my own doing what I do best.

I just want a friend who doesn't need to talk, who can sit and enjoy the silence.
I just want a friend who doesn't need constant calls, who can relax alone too.
I just want a friend to tell 'I love you' too, and know that they love me too.
I just want everything that I'll never have, because no one can be perfect.

It's so nice to get this out.

Thanks Escapists!

Between There and There.
Country
The Wide, Brown One.
On my rare night out, it goes thusly:

around 6pm - start demolishing a bottle of irish whisky while doing pre-night out preperation.

around 9pm - realise whisky bottle has no intention of refilling itself so it's time to start thinking of heading into the CBD.

get into the CBD, hit the same boozer I've been drinking at for 20 years. Catch up with the few old mates who have also refused to grow up and settle down.

around 9am - run out of licenced premises that will serve me alcohol so decide to head home.

I feel so sorry for most of you. You're missing out on all kinds of awesome things by either being some kind of loner or by being some kind of perpetually wasted loser.

My ideal night out, which takes place once or twice a week, is to go out with a few friends, have a nice dinner (either at the pub or an Ajisen ramen bar), followed on by waffles or a trip to a nearby dessert restaurant, or dessert at the pub if we decide to.

Then, we go to whatever venue we've decided to go to - no clubs, bars or any of that douchey shit - and drink beer or cider (depending on our mood) while hanging around with other friends who are there, and watching whatever local or interstate bands are playing at the time. Generally we end the night by saying we're heading off, then spending another hour saying goodbye or getting into conversations with people, then finally leave before getting sudden cravings for a yiros or kebab and indulging, before getting a taxi home in the wee hours of the morning.

Win.
Wow, I'm surprised you can hear us all from up there on your high horse.

Still sounds like a good night, just dont assume I'm perpetually wasted, or a loner for that matter :p

Night's out for me involve "dancing" awkwardly to loud boring music at 2am whilst my mind goes elsewhere. Strangely enough, i think about philosophy, last night for instance i was thinking about Horace and Nietzche. A few of my friends are real-party goers and try to get me involved, but meh, i'm just not a club person- but unfortantly being at univerity means you almost inevitably have to go clubbing at some stage. But heck, i would have much preffered spending last night gaming or watching my Blackadder DVD's.

I much prefer pubs though, going to the pub for a few pints or indeed a bar-crawl is much more entertaining for me, and you get back at an almost civil hour.
I know how you feel, and what you say about clubbing being inevitable at uni is true. I dont care for it myself, but my friends like to go and I go along with it in the vague hope something interesting might happen, I'll pull, or there will be a fight. All of which are highly unlikely.

As you say, pubs are infinitly preferable. Less obnoxious music, less drugged up goons, and talking is actually possible.

Charlie Brooker has an pretty hilarious article on clubs which you may enjoy :D

A table for one at a middle class resturant, preferably in a secluded booth so no one can laugh at my tears.

End of the semester typing escapist post up on a computer lab while i should be working on a project describes the last few night and if I'm not doing that i was either playing Starcraft 2 beta, Haven and hearth with my roommates, or talking to my girl friend on skype(were in different states : ( ) instead of working on my project. that most likely covers the last 3 weeks of nights. After school is over it will be filled with nights of her and watching movies or playing video games with my friends and girlfriend.

I go out? Damn it me, quit sleep walking! >:0

Occasionally, I'll hang out with some friends, but my brother's friends are over ALL THE TIME. I'll go downstairs and play video games with them.

Normally its something like start the evening off in one of the pubs that we like. Depending on which one we might end up playing pool. Then afterwards we head to one of the shitty ass night clubs I really don't like but thankfully we go to one with seats so we can sit and still talk if we hate dancing. Then afterwards we go and buy some booze from a store and go to the local park, get pissed and walk/stumble back home after mucking about.

Almost definitely. I'd say it's pretty much impossible to be a recluse because there are people everywhere. Just start off on good terms with your flatmates (I'm assuming you will be living in halls) and all should be well :)

Likin' the Sam Rockwell avatar btw :)

Aww :(

Well at least you dont wake up in the morning with a splitting headache and no memory of the night before, only to gradually remember or be told what happened and live the next 48 hours in a sort of zombilike state, cringing from embarrassment.

I hardly ever go out anymore. People have lives and/or jobs to consume their souls, so I normally spend my life on video games or random porn web browsery.

Aside from last night 'cause it was my eighteenth party where I got embarrassingly drunk, of course XD

A usual night out for me usually involves pre-going-out drinks at someone's house (usually mine), then off to a pub for cheaper drinks/talking etc. Then it's off to clubs until the early hours; drunken kebab/burgers usually follow. Waiting for a taxi freezing my ass off, then home.
