Left 4 Dead 2 with friends is always fun, but I think my favourite is Team Fortress 2. My experience Modern Warfare (and MW2) varies from "holy nerdrage, Batman!" to "oh man that was fun alright!"

Playing Halo with friends. That would really be it, but as Yahtzee says that is more a judgement of my awesome friends, rather than the genre itself.

Half-Life 2 was absolutely awesome first time I played it and it sold me on the rest of the series.

Halo 2 was also a lot of fun, and was worth playing online as well.

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat was equally entertaining, especially the hot-swapping feature.

The end of HL2:Ep2. Not because it was really "good", but because it proves to me that games can be artfully written and truly elicit a response other than "DIE DIE DIE".

One, Zombiemod on Counterstrike. Fun, fun times.

Two, reenacting 300 in a Burger King in Modern Warfare 2.

Three, the Marathon games. Pretty damn good story.

My all time favorite was Battlefield 1942 w/ the Desert Combat mod. I wasted many a day on that game. Some others that ranked right up there were:

- Deus Ex
- Planetside
- COD 4: MW
- No one Lives Forever 1
- L4D

I'm going to go with my very first FPS; Metroid Prime for the Gamecube.
A VERY close second would have to be Timesplitters 2, also for my Gamecube.

I see a lot of games being thrown out there, but no specific moments. So, I'm gonna buck the trend and speak to specific moments.

CoD4: All Ghillied Up
You're following McMillan, and he says stay close and move when I move. Then you proceed to run/crawl through an enemy encampment. My heart was thumping, my palms were sweaty, and I couldn't wipe the grin off my face. Amazing set piece.

HL2: Sandtraps
You're given a dune buggy and proceed down the road. Many things happen along the way, and all are memorable. Strangely enough, however, what sticks out the most for me is seeing them take the buggy away. It's just a prop really, but by this point it has gotten you through so many situations that anger can't help but bubble up. It's strange how we can form emotional attachments to inanimate objects. Which segues nicely to...

Portal: TestChamber 17
The source of the ubiquitous companion cube. Much has been made of the psychology behind the level's climax, and it's higher meanings. I won't touch on that. All I know is that I had an actual pang of guilt when I did what was required.

True emotional response occured in all these situations, and these moments are the template that I compare future games to.

Battlefield 2. Two IRL friends in a locked squad with snipers running around wrecking havoc. And no, we didn't just sit on a hill. Usually we took a buggy and drove in the middle of the battle.

CoD: United Offensive with huge map and 60 players. That was really cool.

On single player side I'd say Bad Company 1 and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect! Awesome and fun campaigns cleared more than once.

Let's see here, I found the first time I played through the first FEAR game, it was pretty creepy. I really rather enjoyed the storyline/single player campaign for the original Halo. And of course, HL2 was a blast.

F.E.A.R. 1 for an entire game. I loved the climax and then the ending! It's a shame they decided to try and milk that series to death, the first one was really good!!!

Left 4 Dead is my favorite FPS franchise.

The Mile High Club Realistic Difficulty on COD4 made the rest of the game worth it.

Battlefield BC2 had the most fun online FPS military gameplay I've experienced in a while...

Taking down an entire enemy team with just me and my three mates on Bad Company 2 on Conquest. (Sigh) Gotta love it.

If I use a bow, does Oblivion count?

Anyway, The modern warfares (yes, bothof them) are pretty good, although the multiplayer on 2 makes me want to kill myself.

Modern Warfare 2's campaign, Bad Company 2's multiplayer.

Resistance 2's co-op was pretty good too, as someone posted earlier.

I'd have to call it a draw between Team Fortress 2 and the first Enemy Territory. Both were great to play with friends, and both needed cooperation to be able to win a match. Plus, they are bot well made and we just plain fun.

Easily CoD 4. I bought the game for $60 and didn't even have Xbox Live at the time, and I still thought it was worth the price. The campaign was that good. I think I played through it 7 times. And then when I actually got to play the multiplayer, it was absolutely orgasmic. Staying up until 3 in the morning playing Hardcore Search and Destroy with a friend, all the while knowing we had to wake up for school in a few hours... man, those were the days.
