i was in one of those moments in halo reach invasion on spire. my team mate had the core and saw an elite with an energy sword running at him. before the elite killed him i landed my falcon (thats helicopter to non halo fans) ontop of the elite and killed him. i heard the guy say "ho-ly-shit..." in gamechat

Serius?I though that hole thing of Phoenix start speaking to the player and in the end you discover that it's not the player he's talking but yes Apollo and Trucy's mother(Don't remember her name) pretty mindfucking.
Here's what I got out of the ending.

"Well, Apollo, I hope you had fun pretending to be useful. Now admire this enormous Xanatos Gambit in which the most admired character in the series breaks the law ten dozen ways to get personal revenge. Sorry you had to be a pawn in it all, but hey, at least in your case they didn't NOTICE that Phoenix got you to present forged evidence, and no one took YOUR badge!"

The whole ending had nothing to do with ME doing anything awesome. They needed to make up their mind; is the game about Apollo, or Phoenix?

I think I gotta say first time out of the sewer in Oblivion, or opening sequence in Mass Effect 2. (I heard there was spoilers in the trailer, so I didnt watch it, so it was really my first time. Epic.)

Exiting vault in Fallout is epic too, but I played Olivion first, so yeah.

The original halo had an inversion too, something that was supposed to make you say "holy crap" but it just made everyone laugh.

"This cave is not a natural formation...."

Well thank you for that, Bungie scriptwriter. Probably could have figured that one out on my own, what with the ENORMOUS METAL PLATES and all. (/sarcasm)

The whole super-gravity-gun sequence in Half-Life 2 made for a good climax.

Also, pretty much the ending segments of ANY Ace Attorney game, with the exception of Apollo Justice.

A game who made go "HOLY CRAP" was when Kefka blow up half world in Final Fantasy VI, that was awesome... HE BLOW UP HALF OF THE WORLD! Did Sephirot succeed in blowing up the world? No? Then Kefka is the most awesome Final Fantasy villain!
Not but he did succeed in destroying almost very other planet in the solar system.
There are life in those Planets? No?
Then why he did that for? And he couldn't destroy whatever planet which passes Final Fantasy VII, so Kefka >>>>>>> Sephirot.

Seeing the last colossus in Shadow of the Colossus. The first time I laid eyes on that thing, I literally said out loud, "Holy shit! I gotta climb THAT? You gotta be kidding me..."

Never before have I faced such a sizable opponent in any game.

The "Would you kindly..." reveal was amazing. Made me want to start the game over before I had even finished. Made lots of dialogue fresh on the second playthrough.

The nuke in COD4:MW always pops to mind as the definition of "oh shit!" moments.

Your first encounter with an El Gigante in RE4 grabbed me by the boo-boo.

But my number one would have to be Pherepods in HL2. Coming into that game, all the hype was about the gravity gun, which certainly deserved hype. But after dealing with so many irritating ant lions and their queen, taking a gland from a boss to turn enemies into allies?!?!? Absolutely brilliant, thoroughly unexpected, and hugely effective good times. The only downside was how briefly your antlion pals were actually available. Half-Life 2 had plenty of jaw-dropping moments, but that was my favorite.

Well I had the same impression that the game was about Phoenix(Which let's agree, it's more awesome that Apollo).
Maybe a Apollo Justice 2 will be about Apollo, but before Capcom has to stop being a ***** and release (Or announce) the fucking game already...

Yeah, Jak and Daxter are awesome.

As for me, the ending of dead space 2, with nicole, had me almost word for word qouting Isaac:

FUCK YOU! AND FUCK YOUR MARKER!

In Gears of War 2, when Cole rejoins you, you see the locust, the unending, bottomless well of subterranean worm chompers you've been fighting for most of the game, actually running away in fear.

Finally Red Faction Guerrilla, I just love the physics. You think you have cover drone? I will destroy both you and your laughable cover with one swing of my mighty hammer! I beat two house arrest missions (and slaughtering a few buildings worth of mooks) with nothing but the sledgehammer. Oh yeah, and said mooks make an interesting crunching noise when a light walker lands on them. Talk about doing your homework.

Team Kefka!
He is my idol and mentor in hope that one day I can become a god and destroy the world also.

Anyway, for holy crap moments I got a ton out of Amnesia. Especially in the storage area where I ran out of lantern oil in that pitch blackness and a monster came chasing me.
Theres also the obvious games which people have stated a bunch already (e.g. Bioshock) and I can't really think of anything else at the moment, but if I do I'll edit it in here.

Using the Bunker Buster airstrike in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction for the very first time.
Yes, a thousand times yes.

Call of Duty 4: The nuke.
World In Conflict: The nuke in the campaign, most epic sacrifice ever.
Modern Warfare 2: The DC levels.
Dawn of War: Ordering loads of units to charge the enemy at once, watching particular sync-kills and Orbital Bombardment for the first time.
Age of Mythology: God powers, oh yeah, and the giant mythological creatures smashing through your tiny soldiers too.
Metro 2033: Seeing the surface, fighting off hordes of mutants with improvised weapons, climbing Ostankino Tower, and many more.
Half Life 2: Early on when several citizens get themselves killed in an apartment raid just for you to escape, and the supercharged Grav Gun.

The only real "holy crap" moment I've had in recent memory is when you first meet Sovereign in Mass Effect and he says "You are not Saren." There was this undeniable sense of "Christ, we're fucked."

The plot twist in KOTOR. Looking back it seems obvious, but at the time it blew me away when the mask comes off and BOOM its you behind it.

Ok so I have TONS of gear in Fallout New Vegas, including a fatman and some mini nukes and I spent some time sorting it out and getting rid of some of the weight between me and veronica

So Im walking along and I see a couple of feinds....easy targets! I quickly whip out my pistol and run after them eager to shoot off their heads just as I raise my gun there is a HUGE explosion! the screen lights up with orange fire and then forms into a muchroom cloud, it scared the crap out of me and the feinds are completley nuked

I turn around and there stands veronica Holding the Fatman with that smug grin on her face...since shes melee I didnt think she would actually use the thing...anway I took it off her after that
