In many games, be they good or bad, we've all had some let-downs, from little "oh"s, to big "what the..?"s, and for many different reasons.
So, my fellow Escapists, what has been your biggest let-down in a game ?

Mine would be in Pokemon White, at the beginning of the game. As always, I was looking forward to naming myself something great, and my rival "Dicktits" (or something along those lines), but what happens ? I get two rivals, with PREDETERMINED NAMES! I nearly sold the game straight away ! [sub]Well, maybe not, but you get my point...[/sub]

Does it count as a let down if I'm disappointed in the popularity(and abuse) of the Call of Duty franchise among my generation?

Because I actually had faith in us for a little while there.

How recent? Because Prototype was horribly dissapointing. An awesome freeroaming game, and almost all the missions locked you in a small area and made you fight wave after wave of repetative enemies.

I'll accept it, even though it is more a popular letdown than the game itself letting you down.

When fallout new Vegas on xbox 360 turned out to be buggy and glitchy in very annoying ways. Specifically item boxes that erase your loot at random.

I'm kind of glad you didn't get a rival. Pokemon has been the same exact game for years, just with slightly different names for everything and while that's still true, they changed it up more than ever and it's kind of nice. Familiar, yet different.

And I don't want to call Dead Space 2 disappointing, but the fact that after I got Bulletstorm I kind of stopped playing it tells me something...

The hacking mini-games in Alpha Protocol. I love the game(it's probably among my favorites), but those damn mini-games suck the fun out of everything.

my biggest disappointment... I guess every shooter from the past few years would qualify.

New Goldeneye on the wii. £55 for a terrible rip-off of call of duty. The only good thing about it was the re-vamped levels. The multiplayer, the AI, the graphics, the qte's, the guns, and the controls were awful.

Dungeons, the first time i saw it it seemed to be a Dungeon Keeper clone. That couldn't have been farther from the truth.

Dragon Age II. I still love the game and everything about it, but

The fucking ENDING, man. Out of all the games to inspire an ending, BioWare went with Halo 2? Seriously, the cliffhanger is insane, and the reasoning for it is so much worse.

How the fuck did Hawke go missing? And why would they kick me in the balls by making my Warden go missing too? What are they building towards with this? There's some obvious looming threat but I really want to know what the hell is going on sooner rather than later.

I can't believe they had the sheer balls to do this.

Army of Two: The 40th Day. Me and my friend found the first installment to be a bucket of fun when playing co-op on the harder difficulties, but the sequel was just terrible. Somehow it appeared to be piss-easy even on the hardest difficulty setting and the "moral" choices were a complete failure. And the weapon customization was not as good as it was in the first one.

Also Crackdown 2, Alan Wake, Dawn of War 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 were massive dissapointments. I cannot even bear to mention the Silent Hill series in its current state...
