Probably Himura Kenshin, I just loved(and still love) the idea of someone who is more then capable of beating the dog shit out of everyone in the room yet is meek and tries not to get in fights unless hes protecting something. I suppose even now it influences me.

Screw DBZ! My childhood hero was Zelgadis Greywords!

Sure, he doesn't look like much, but he has stone skin/hair, powerful magic, good agility, and great sword fighting skills.

Guys, we're supposed to be talking about:

Him and Batman are the biggest badasses because they operate within a relative level of realism and they still kick more ass than the famous Donkey-Kicking Man of Guanajuato.

I still think Megas is badass.
Megas was pretty dope.

Still, I've gotta go with what could be considered several characters. Basically, every character played by Liam Neeson.

Yes, I picked Liam Neeson. Your arguments are all invalid.

Technically I was still a "child" when the movie first came out.

It's Vincent from Collateral. You can watch the scenes without massive spoilers but I recommend watching the movie first.

I was a sucker for the classics so whilst I did like Goku, for me there was no beating Snake Plissken or The Man With no Name.

I guess I'd go with either Albert Wesker or Solid Snake.

*Ahem* My childhood Badass.

I wanted to BE him. For me nothing was more Badass than Han Solo. Sure maybe he couldn't kick very many peoples ass, but he was always cool, whether he won or ran away..or got fucked up by a bounty hunter.

When I was around 6 years old, Bucky was the greatest of them all.

I refuse to have my nostalgia destroyed by watching it again...

Certainly one of the DBZ chars as many have brought up are great choices, Yamcha being my favorite.
But there is one man, who in my childhood was the biggest badass of them all, he was strong, he was manly, he knew absolutely everything and still was kind and helpfull and could always be relied on!
This man is:
DAD

Guys? Someone would like a word with you...
Yup he wants to tell you about the next terrible story Arc :D
and the thread was about childhood... that character is what, 4-5 years old?
So unless you're a 10 year old posting then I don't find your character a valid choice, sory.
