I know the world champion whistler David Morris.

I shook hands with Princess Anne when she came to open the UEA Sports Park when I was about 6, and I told her I was going to be a writer.

Status Quo's drummer once came to my school to teach us music.

I think that's about it.

Related, on my mothers side, to one of the guys in the Pyramidiacs. They were popular somewhere, Spain I think, once.

My dad's cousin helped design the warp drive animation for the original Star Trek movie.

That and my mum got chatted up by the lead singer of The Beautiful South, and Jon Tickle from UK show Braniac.

My family on my mum's side are descended from the orginal Normans who invaded Britain nd defeated the Saxons. Way, way back in the day, my mum's family were the "de Seckingtons". And they had a castle. Its all gone now, of course :(

My friend's mother attended Oxford with Hugh Grant (she says he was full of himself), and my dad went to the same school as footballer Alan Shearer, who defended my auntie from bullies.

I was also given a signed book by author Kevin Brooks for asking a purposely toady-ish question. I assumed it would get me the book (he'd said the best question asked and you get a free signed copy), and I was right.

I've gotten a hug from the vocalist of Voluspaa, one of Norway's more popular metal bands, as well as having shaken hands with a rapping norwegian midget (he used to be famous - Ravi of Ravi and DJ løv for you norwegians who read this).

Uhm, I know Björk's son, and have met her a couple of times. Also, my mom's brother is (or maybe was, not sure) manager to Emiliana Torrini (Gollum's song), Quarashi (Stick'em up is their most famous song in the U.S.) and Páll Óskar (of Eurovision fame). My mom also used to teach a few of the guys from SigurRós and knows the dudes that started Iceland Airwaves. Personally, I've met some of the dudes in Mínus(most famous album 'Halldór Laxness' got a 9/10 in Metal Hammer magazine and 5 K's in Kerrang), and say 'hi' to them when I meet'em on the street. And the band Sign, I've had drinks with them, and used to hang with the singer when we were kids, but I've practically lost all contact. Uhm... yeah, and some Icelandic actors and musicians that you guys are even less likely to recognize than the ones I've mentioned so far. =P

My brother occasionally hangs out with Randy Bachman's grandson, apparently. CR Avery (musician who's toured with Tom Waits) asked me to email him a sketch I did at a show. And my last ex took an acting course with Emma Watson.

Rowan Atkinson's (Blackadder) kids go to my old school. Hugh Laurie was also thinking of sending his kids there.

My friends uncle is a famous singer. (Can't remember who exactly.)
My other friend knows someone who drummed with AC/DC
My mum worked in a posh bakery in Oxford when she was about 18, and met LOADS of famous people. Like Rowan Atkinson.
There are others but I can't think of them at this point.
