Cerberus from one of the final fantasy games, the thing has 3 barrels , who the hell needs a pistol with 3 barrels, is that still even a pistol or is it just a small shotgun, all I remember is that it looked cool and had enough knockback to move your character in mid air it just shoots that many bullets.

Grammaton clerics' modified Berettas from Equilibrium. Love the fact that they have a fire-mode selector switch, and they just look SO FREAKIN' AWESOME. Should check out the movie too if you haven't seen it.

I don't know why, but I always loved the Dostovei from Goldeneye. I just loved the sound it made.

Before I knew this thread was about modelling a gun, I was going to come in and suggest the same gun- except not the regular one, but the ones Baron Samedi has at the end of the game. Looks just like the regular one, but can fire like the regular pistol, the ZMG machine pistol, AND the Moonraker laser. And knowing Samedi, they were probably cursed or something and could fire forever...

The Dominator from Psycho-Pass.

Three firing modes. Paralyser, Eliminator, and Decomposer. This is one beast of a gun in a high-tech package. The most powerful mode is an anti-armour cannon which can more than penetrate the hull of a modern main battle tank. Its only drawbacks are that it has no mode inbetween stungun and gib-fest, and that it contains intrusive always-online DRM :(

Yes. The most awesome revolver ever conceived by man (or plant).
Honorable mention to Deckard's pistol from Blade Runner but Vash gets bonus awesome points because his revolver fires from the 6 o'clock position.

While it is also a real-life gun, I hope the Five-Seven from Counter-Strike: Source counts.

It's hard to explain exactly what it is that I love so much about this particular gun. Just the overall style of it I suppose; the look of the gun, the sound it makes when fired several times in rapid succession...

Call me boring, but this one will always have a place on my virtual belt.
I love the Five-seveN as well (although in my case it come from the early Splinter Cell games, as that's basically what the SC Pistol is, only with a built in suppressor and without the name licencing.

It's a pretty wicked handgun in real life. It's unassuming but effective as hell, the 5.7mm ammunition is (obviously) smaller than its 9mm counterpart, and much smaller than .45 and above. This makes for a lower-recoil gun with a higher clip capacity. However, because it's shaped like a rifle round, it's more accurate and far better at penetrating body armour.

Gotta love the Belgians for weapon design, in the real world I'd take it over a Deagle any day.

Mine has to be the dispersion pistol from Unreal. Sure it starts out a glorified flashlight, but gather all the power-ups and combine it with the amplifier and this gun that starts out as maybe one of the most pathetic weapons in gaming history can now one shot a titan. a mother-loving Titan! The manual's description of the titan: "The colossal titan looks nothing short of unstoppable, and he's tougher than he looks."

If I may slightly abandon thread rule to reference Supernatural's 'The Colt':

And I'd also like to say people saying revolvers don't count will burn in hell along with people who get their knickers in a twist over the difference between clips and magazines. :D
Feel free to continue using the wrong terms for things and the rest of us will continue to ignore what you say based upon your willful ignorance of the subject. Deal? Deal.
Willful ignorance? Implying I don't know the difference. :D

But really, the terms are interchangeable from a non-technical standpoint. I'm relatively certain the OP doesn't give a damn whether the pistol above his mantel is technically a pistol or not, based on the sort of thing he's asking, and given that 'clip' is so widely used as shorthand for an ammunition magazine, because actual clips are such an old fashioned device, and that magazines serve an identical purpose, arguing the case is just silly nitpicking unless you're in circumstances that require technicality. Which unless you're being tested for some form of armourer's certification, you probably aren't. ;)

Could you imagine trying to bring that 10-barrel one up to fire with one hand? Of course, after 10 shots you might take your finger prints off trying to fire it with a second hand, so pick your poison.

why not just show them you mean business and club them to death with it. You might need to fire one shot to show them that it works but after that they are gonna hand over the money as soon as they know you have a gun with 10 fucking barrels, the threat alone is enough to deter anyone

I've always liked the Halo Magnum, it looks futuristic while still looking practical. Considering its fame for having a scope and being over powered, I like to think it is iconic.

This was also the first gun that came to mind for me, not only is it a powerful weapon that works well in every level of the game at all ranges but I think given how good it was it became THE go to weapon for anyone who played the game.

For my pick I'm gonna say the colt .45 because it just screams "AMERICA!". Came into use over 100 years ago and for many people there's still nothing better. Sadly the US downgraded to an italian pistol, the beretta 92s I think it's called. It's a little 9mm pistol good for training but lacks the caliber needed for battle.
The Smith & Wesson Model 29 - the 44 Magnum! Brought to you in 1971 by Dirty Harry :)

The 6 1/2 inch one, pretty epic.

But the 8 3/8 inch version is totally awesome (warning past the 30 second mark is quite graphic)

I may have found the most powerful handgun in existence but it may be as a technicality as its from a manga with a terrible 20 minute long anime ova. Pistol im talking about would happen to be:

The Graviton Beam Emmiter from BLAME! a quick link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blame!

Weilded by Killy, the semi silent protagonist of the series, it's a compact little gun with more firepower than is every really needed, a single pull of the trigger fires a blast that can punch holes in the immpassable barriers of the Megastructure and obliterate everything it is aimed at. Not only is the gun powerful beyond all compare but its also nearly indestructable with it and its weilder surviving a point blank blast from a level 4 charged shot from another GBE and being dropped in molten lava, were it was later retreived and fired with no problem after sitting encased in rock for an extended period.

Second favorite would be the 13mm "anti tank handcannon" weilded by the Gespenst Jaeger troops from Pumpkin Scissors, gotta love a gun that only does its job if you fire from point blank range lol!

Give me two of these babies and I would not only feel badass ... I would also look badass.
Plus it is one of the best weapons in Fallout New Vegas ... I think.

Well it is the most powerful pistol in that game, and that is enough for me.

The Gold Wolfram P2K from 007 Nightfire. Always attach silencer, then run around shooting people in the head. My friend and I got so good with the pistols in this game that we could pull off a headshot from pretty far range with little difficulty.

For purely sticking in my mind, the Auto-9 from Robocop takes top spot:

I know it's only a Beretta 92 with a body kit on it, but it's just so damn cool!

A close runner up, the Lawgiver from the original Judge Dredd movie:

Say what you will about the Stallone Judge Dredd movie, but it's set, prop and overall visual design was beautiful.

I may be wrong, but that actually looks like a Taurus pt92, since the safety is on the frame rather than the slide.
