England (Practicaly) invented the use of Coal. It may sound like a bad thing, but it was a pretty big deal back then - It pioneared the Industrial revolution, so without it, we might well still be doing many things manualy!

So... Yeah. Pretty good invention, Revolution wise.

Sweden I know did a lot for car safety. Seat belts spedometers and more.
I can't think of anything good England has done other than the english language. Does that count? Other than that I think Norway invented the cheese slicer. I love me ma cheese.

America: Sunglasses. Fuck yea.
Sunglasses were invented in ancient china. Judges wore smoke tinted lenses to conceal their emotions.
Source?

Here's mine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunglasses

They show some early ones, nothing that is actualy useful though.
I got my chinese-judge info from a trivia book. That source of yours says that the US was the first mass produce them cheaply... doesn't mean that they invented it.

Canadians invented penicillin. Better than the jolly jumper or anything else to come out of the Great White Northern Country, except maybe Kraft Dinner with extra cheese.

I guess since we're all able to come together and talk about this sort of thing, the internet is probably one of the top 3 inventions in the world, let alone America.
Actually look up Tim Berners-Lee, Damn Yanks always steal all the credit :p
Actually [http://www.boutell.com/newfaq/history/inventednet.html], the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Internet] internet [http://www.buzzle.com/articles/who-invented-the-internet.html] was [http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001016.htm] first [http://www.catalogs.com/info/gadgets/who-invented-the-internet.html] created [http://www.livinginternet.com/i/ii.htm] in [http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Who_invented_the_Internet] 1961 [http://www.isoc.org/internet/history/brief.shtml] for [http://www.topbits.com/who-invented-the-internet.html] the [http://www.topbits.com/who-invented-the-internet.html] American [http://www.davesite.com/webstation/net-history.shtml] military [http://www.walthowe.com/navnet/history.html]. Tim Berners-Lee helped facilitate public use, but that was almost 30 years later.

Take your pick, most notable ones on there are the world wide web and apparently we invented the USA lol
Wrong Sir! Al Gore invented the inter-webs using a complex series of tubes!
I'm afraid not, He invented the Internet as an entity, which would be the complex network that it is, the www was a British invention during world war 2 I believe and is contained inside of the internet, think of it like the internet being the hard ware, but the world wide web is the juicy software contained within.
I'm sorry. I think you missed my meaning. My attempt at pithy sarcasm seems to have failed. Al Gore hasn't invented anything, let alone anything pertaining to the internet. All he's come up with is method of scamming environmentalists into giving him lots and lots of money. (consequently, did you know his supposed "green" home uses more power and creates more wasted energy than most non-eco-friendly homes? food for thought.)

America Invented America
nooooo... that was england... and france...
Strangely enough, you're both wrong. These guys say so.

Although a healthy percentage of them were killed. I guess history is indeed written by the victor.
errr... you DO KNOW that those guys didnt "INVENT" America, they (like any sane person) when: "hey look land!" and put up some tents and lived happily ever after till (acually the vikings came there first (arr me ancestors knew ye' ancestors arrr...)) the people escapeing the bloated hellhole that was europe (unless you were living in sweden.(cuz then you would be living in a frozenover hellhole... whit potatoes all round... AND POTATOE BASED LIQUOR!!! YARR!) ... point: no one "INVENTED" america they just "DISCOVERED" it. Wich ofcourse the Nativenorth americans did FIRST. unless they killed off someone else before them. wich is kinda unlikely. cuz those guys seem kinda nice... dont hit me /(>.<)\

EDIT: LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG post is long...

the Water wheel. Without it, modern life wouldn't exist. No industry, no industrial revolution, no productions lines, nothing. We'd still be farming and foraging.

I. Win. Hands. Down.
