Australia, and 18.
yup, definitely 18 here, last time I checked. The Aussie govt. was planning to put it up to 21, but that only means more underage drinking.

And also, awesome avatar Glamorgan. :D
I would say the same, but I'd be hit for being immature.

18 to buy beer and other low alcohol content beverages, 21 - I think - for buying booze.
20 for hard liqueur (anything above 20% ABV) here in No'way.

It's always been a joke of mine to say to foreigners that the legal drinking age in Australia is when you can ask your parents for a beer, and they say "Sure, get me one too."

The "law" states that you have to be 16/18 (Holland) to drink. In reality, if you want to drink, you drink. Most bars and clubs have an age limit for entry, but they don't really refuse a lot of people, so once you're in, you can drink.

in the Netherlands you have to be 16 for beer and 18 for the more alcoholic stuff, doesn't stop us from becoming drunk and puke ourself.

To buy liquor with an alcohol % above 40%, you've got to be 21.
20 years and 22%.

For some reason I've run into several kids that seem to believe 21 is the age here.
I blame americanized television.

Short rundown of rights in Norway:
16 - consensual sex, school no longer mandatory, driver's licence for tractors/mopeds
18 - soft liquor, beer, tobacco, voting, general driver's license, marriage, can volunteer for military service
19 - conscription age (not a right, a duty)
20 - hard liquor
21 - driver's license for heavy buses/trailers[/sup]
