i know of almost all Dutch beers (i'm dutch).
There is one bar in Brussels which serves a ridiculous amount of beers. I think it's near 1500 different beers that they have.
trust me, it bewilders us as well...Gordon_4 said:I'm an Australian, and the legal age for getting your drink on is 18
And I like that, the drinking age at 21 like in the US has always bewildered me: indeed I heard a member of my family remark thus:
"How can a country say that 18 is old enough for a man to go and fight and maybe die for his country but still be to young to have a beer with his mates before he leaves?"

But I think the Government plan on changing it to 18 or 19 by the end of next year.
Luckily I'll still be ok even if they change it!
OT: It's 18. Don't think it'll change, especially not with the war on. Would seem kind of weird you can be sent overseas but can't get hammered if you make it back. At least that's my mates theory on it lol, he's 18, in the army and due to be deployed.
It's 18 for strong alcohol.NoseDigger said:Belgium, and 16. Plenty of beers to choose from as well.

If He's part Maltese, then I'm guessing that you're British or Australian? That's were most other Maltese people are.
I guess it does in a way. You can be trained to use a car correctly through lessons, and you have to pass a test proving you can handle it, whereas that can;t be done with alcohol, so I guess they wait for natural maturity to take hold of it and keep the alcohol in check.W8NKA said:Its 18 here in australia which is lower than america's, but from, what i know is that the driving age is lower there, at 16 you can drive in america but here in australia its 18.
What i dont get is that driving is far more risking than drinking yet there is a large gap between the legal drinking and driving age in america, so what the amrican goverment is saying is that they will let a 16 year old behind the wheel of a "weapon" that can them and others, but they cant drink untill there 21. Does this make any sence to any one?
Even more specific, you need to be 16 for beers that are <5%, and 18 for above and strong alcohol. But as you said, you rarely get carded. Not that it matters to me.chimpzy said:It's 18 for strong alcohol.
But neither really matters as you will rarely ever get checked for ID.
