My personal opinion is that rap nowadays is complete and utter shit.

Used to be good, now rotten trash.

It's all been crap to me...Just poetry about being rich and making love to many women set to drum beats and synthesizers. Plus all the rappers have a form of amnesia due to the fact they have to say their names more then 10 times throughout the song.

Mainstream Rap is horrible.

Personally, I can't say that I ever liked rap. I was brought up by my father with AC/DC, Iron Maiden and Judas Priest etcetera. I just dislike it in general. I don't find it entertaining to listen to how some man is going to "pop a cap in my ass" and "fuck his hos" and do drugs.

What's that I hear you say? You want a game based on a rapper? Well look no further, Charlie Brooker is here to make you laugh and giggle at a game which pretty much represents modern day rap.

Remember when music was a respected art form. I think rap killed that. The only rap song I like is Remember the Name by Fort Minor because it actually makes a statement and I can understand what they are saying. Plus its not about woman or making money at all. Its about a young rapper whom all the other rappers hate because he is more about money and women than actually making music.

Rap and the corresponding rap 'culture' it's spawned are cultural pollution of the first order - the genre is a howling wasteland devoid of merit, and the lifestyle, don't even get me started on it.

There are exceptions of course, but those aren't what everyone instantly thinks of when the word 'rap' gets bandied about, so they don't really factor in much.

I'd say the world would be a better place without the presence of the genre and the accompanying glorification of the 'thug' lifestyle, but I'm sure something equally horrible would just replace it.

The thing I love is that most rappers seem to put a lot of focus on their 'thug life' i.e. being in a gang or dealing drugs but the second they get any kind of money they up-sticks and move to Beverly Hills where they proceed to act like spoiled rich white girls on Sweet Sixteen.

It just seems like a ridiculous hypocrisy that the people that can really identify with modern rappers lives are about as far away from street thugs as it's possible to be without joining a convent.

I can tolerate the more "old school" rappers, but it's hardly something I listen to. The stuff released nowadays is just awful

I currently dislike and have always disliked rap save for a couple of songs every year. But I don't listen to it enough to have a valid opinion on whether or not it is better or worse today than it was yesterday, last Thursday, a fortnight ago, the mid-90's, four score and seven years ago, during the late 1600's, or MC Caesar's time.

I just plain dislike rap. It does nothing for me and all sounds the same, with samish lyrics moaning about something.
