Your Day Z deaths

So, yesterday I downloaded Day Z, and by today I'm already on my 8th character. It's a unique and enjoyable game, but it's as hard as nails.

My most memorable death so far was probably my last: I tried to escape a zombie by climbing up a ladder, then when I found out they could also climb, I jumped off from near the top, thinking i could grab back onto the ladder before I hit the bottom.

I didn't work. I ended up breaking some bones and KO'ing myself, and when I woke up had barely crawled for a minute before being spotted by a zombie. It was pretty much game over at this point, as I had no morphine, so I saved the zombie the hassle and killed myself.

So, what are you memorable deaths, Escapist's?

I think my most frustrating death I've had was what made me stop playing for a while. I had been playing on one character for 12 hours. It was night time here in Ohio and I was playing with a friend who hasn't played before. So we jumped on a an EU server and we played for like an hour. I took over this barn area and was just making a small safe house when some other player comes in and looks around, I send a message saying that i'm friendly and he walks out. A couple zombies start coming my way 5 minutes later and the same guy comes back with a sniper and shoots me in the leg and immediately I'm down on the ground and can't do anything. He walks out and then comes back in 20 seconds later to kill me and loot all of my items. I had to quit for a week after that

the one I remember the most is when I was attacked by 2 zombies at the same time so I ran like hell turned and used my last 4 bullets to kill 1 of the zombies then I kept running hoping to run into someone and I got to the shore so naturally I jumped in the water hoping to be able to get away because we all know water kills every enemy in any game ever... but I learned that zombies can swim the hard way, now I know that in the zombie apocalypse I might be able to outrun Michael Phelps but I won't be able to out-swim him

Being total zombie fan (seriously, I have better plans for zombie apocalypse than for my own life...) I would love to try this but I need to get Arma 2 first :/

I'm in Elektro with my buddies looting in the restaurant, then my friend who was in the same building announces he has work in the morning so he had to go. I decided to move out instantly and as I'm heading for the stairs, some wanker spawns in the server behind me and shoots me with a Lee Enfield, I manage to exit just before I died.

I have 140 blood and I know I won't make it even if my friends try and heal me.

I'm so pissed off that people can spawn literally NEXT TO YOU! but atleast I can have my mates save my gear when we are on next time. Kind of glad that dick didn't get my M249 Saw, Night vision goggles etc.

I recently got killed by another player as well. I was in a firestation, looking for supplies, and went up a set of stairs to find a guy waiting there with a rifle/shotgun. Before I had time to turn away or say I was friendly, he shot and killed me. Annoying as hell, since it was the character I had been doing the best on.

Just an update on my post here, I did die like 3 seconds after I spawned, I knew I would. however my friends being as awesome as they are, secured my stuff while I made my way back to the city and now I'm using one of those bastard enfields, already killed 2 bandits with it. That gun is fucking OP! xD

Shot in both legs, managed to bandage myself but could only move by crawling. They got bored and caused some zombies to turn up.

My most memorable DayZ death...

Either my first death or the one where my character randomly sprinted off the tallest building in Cherno. Both are the result of something fucking up on the game's side.

My first death: a ladder killed me. I was outside Cherno, on top of this giant cylindrical tower to see farther ahead. Didn't see much so I started to climb back down. When my character's feet hit the ground, the game didn't realise I had climbed down, so I took roughly 15 feet of falling damage and died instantly because DayZ characters' bones are made of graham crackers, apparently. That reminds me. I walked off a rock about a foot or so off the ground and broke my legs, passed out, and started bleeding. I literally /facedesk'd.

Does the mod have local multiplayer? I'd like to connect with some people I know over hamachi and play that way. I don't want to spend a lot of time on a character, just for some random dickhead to join the server and randomly shoot us for loot.

Nah mate, local multiplayer isn't possible at this point and private servers are prohibited due to people getting the best gear on their private server, then going on public servers just to kill people.

I dont know much about the game. I gather is a mod for an existing game from what people have said.
Which game is this ? also is the DayZ available single player or only online multi ? as being shot by other players sounds really annoying..

It's a mod for Arma II.

As for myself, I have not yet picked up Arma II yet, hopefully pick it up on a cheaper sale day. If not I'll just take the reduced price that it currently has.

Think about 2 of my deaths were from zombies, the rest were from other players.
This game is advertised as a realistic zombie servival game but what you actually get is CoD freeforall with the occational zombie.
Wont be returning to this mod till they allow private servers or nerf the pvp which is a pity as its a really awesome mod -without other players-

I think I'm unique, in that I never die from player interaction (i.e. being shot in the head by a bastard) but always from zombies or glitches.

I once died because I was crawling into a building, and didn't realise crawling into buildings caused your legs to break. I had no morphine so was left crawling around till I got bored and killed myself.

Other than that, my deaths are all really boring. Always just from turning a corner and running into a zombie when I have no weapon. That game is fucking hard.

One of the most recent ones was when the server crashed while I was inside a bus.
I came back in and I spawned inside it and it ran me over so I passed out on 7k blood. So I alt-f4'd while my mate moved the bus, so he wouldn't kill me and then I end up spawning in Kamenka when I logged on again and bled out, I got lucky though and spawned in kamenka on my second try and got most of my stuff back.
Although I lost it a few hours later outside balota while crossing a field; got ambushed by a sniper and his friend, killed his friend though

This mod intrigues me so, it seems so interesting and fun plus I love zombie games but not in a million years would my PC run it.
