I've never liked sandbox games, except the first one I ever played: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. For me, it was just completely unexpected and made me feel so bad-ass! But the games I've given a whirl since that have bored me quickly.

I hate driving games in general, but I love me some Burnout 3. I'm also not that great at RTS games, but I've always been interested in trying any game made by Relic.

I can never sit through turn based RPGs that long, but for some reason Legend of Dragoon managed to just capture my full attention for many many hours, it's even one of the few games I finished more than once.

I don't like RTS...

Except for Warcraft III. It's the only game that I think had the best multiplayer system in the RTS genre. Plus, the custom maps were PHENOMENAL. 9 years of pure awesomeness in playable format.

I'm hard pressed to find any JRPGs to like these days, period. But, to this day, Baten Kaitos is still my one and only love of the genre. Also, InFamous changed my mind about sandbox games.

I generaly find most things about JRPG's to be absolutely ridiculous. A couple of years ago I bought Persona 3 FES for my girlfriend, and wouldn't you know it, I loved it.

It even made me buy Persona 4! But it just knocked JRPG's back into my "ignore" list.

I've never been a fan of RTS games, but Toy Soldiers really caught my attention. Probably because it was more interactive than most.

Yeah, I generally dislike most racing games, but the last one that I played and thoroughly enjoyed had to be Need for Speed: Underground.

I don't know why, but, it was just so much better than any other racing games I've played.
second that.
plus it was so much better than the other pre- & sequels. you still had some kind of story in it and much more tuning options. mainly I played it just for designing car layouts I think ^^

I don't like racing games at all, but Motorstorm was a barrel of laughs.

Uhh.. lets see I generally do not like MMOs but I do enjoy Eve.

I hate Mini games, I especially hate games that are entirely composed of mini games and time sinks... Yet I love me some Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball.
Admit it, it's because of the boobs.
No its not because of the boobs.
... Its because of the Jiggle Physics and the Boobs.
But the jiggle physics make the boobs look like sentient creatures trying to escape from their cruel human overlords. Real boobs, no matter how big, do not jiggle that aggressively.

*just realized he's debating jiggle physics on the internet... dies a little inside*

(Oh and if you liked Fallout 3 i would recoment STALKER as an immersive game.)
I just (as in 3 hours ago) finished the Shadow of Chernobyl, and it was one of the best experiences that I have ever had gaming. The last 1/4th of the game was a bit choppy and piecemeal but I hear they made up for that with the other two. I would much rather take a choppy end to a game with 2 sequels that expand on the content, than for the game to be vaporware which it very very very narrowly avoided being.

Yeah the last 1/4 kinda goes downhill. My favorite part of ANY game is from Agprom reasearch facility (the fly-over of the Mole's STALKERs Vs. the army at might was a real "holy shit! This just got real!" moment) through lab x18 (wow...) right up until the end of Lab X16. I also loved the ghosts in red forest.

I honestly thought this game would never come out but then it did and i don't think my perspective of what a game can be will ever be the same again. The sense of almost total paranoia and otherworldlyness is hard to shake after an extended play session.

The game was the exception to my rule that FPS games were fun but unengaging (even half life 2 had trouble keeping me immersed first time through)
You really can see that they ran out of time and money after the end of X16. Up until the end of X16 SoC is one of the most terrifying, atmospheric, deep, rich and immersive games I have ever played.

After X16 you can feel all the content they cut, it goes from Epic to suddenly being in Pripyat, Pripyat being this small shooter focused area and then onto the reactor where there is a mini dungeon to the end.

And the way that you find the "Good" endings feels so amazingly tagged on, but they needed something in order for them to do the exposition to explain the details of the plot but ran out of development time to properly explore in game.

Despite this huge failing, the game still is one of the single greatest FPS games I have ever played and I can't wait to start on Clear Sky & Call of Pripyat.

I hate all racing games except for mario kart. Actually i'm a goddamn savant at it. Owned um all, crushed them all, and my friends in the process. Besides the BS nintendo everyoen deserves a fair chance on the final lap nintendo AI i love that that series. Any other racing game. It's smash wall city.
