Looking out over the DC ruins from the rivet city tower was always beautiful and made me feel all calm and zen. Until I pushed the old dude over the side, that is.

Downtown DC.

Urban Combat FTW!
I really liked downtown as well. I thought it was just spooky!

I originally hated this game on my first playthrough, I sold it, and now I'm kinda wanting to play it again!

I made the mistake of going to Olney at midnight.
You guys should go there
Totally safe.
No stupid gouls or raiders or anything......
(Though youll be wishing there was)

but in the sewers is where you find the prototype medic power armor and the power armor manual (so you can wear it if you didnt learn yet). The prototype has this little built in voice that tells you when youve been spotted (usually with lines like "MAKE EM EAT LEAD" or "TIME TO KICK SOME ASS" and even greets you with "Alright, jerk, you are now wearing prototype armor. you take care of me and I'll take care of you") and is more durrable and protective then regular.

As well its the fastest place to lvl up at if youve got the stones to go and the bullets to survive.

But if your gonna go, make sure you have lots of ammo or are very sneaky. Trust me, you dont want to be caught with your pants down.... so much blood......

Little Lamplight.

For some reason, I would always feel better after visiting that cavern full of kids (for me I always thought of them a somthing of the wastelends future, and also I just loved talking to McCredy, its funny hearing a kid swear more than any of the other characters in the game)
Really? I downloaded a mod just so I could kill the annoying little brats.
I also hated little lamplight, because it always took endless wondering around to find whichever annoying brat you were searching for. McReedy is an arrogant prick and Princess made me want to commit infantacide.
This.

Seriously, once I had everything I wanted from Lamplight, I never set foot back in there.
I can't stand that place - those obnoxious little bastards really test my patience.

All you need is your dart gun and terrible shotgun and you'll be happy a pig in deathclaw shit!

i loved the vaults, and the totally messed up things they were doing to the people in them. i think it was 92 where the white noise made the people inside go crazy. the diary entries where that woman starts having a breakdown over time were chilling.

Favourite Fallout 3 area would have to be ... the Evergreen Mills ... Free the Behemoth and run like a ***** :D watch him murder all raiders then nuke him :D gives a warm fuzzy feeling.

Strangest was the plunger ghoul easter egg ... funny but odd at the same time.

Yeh, and the second time playing through, I felt quite at home amongst all the friendly slavers...:)

Also, it's not really a very prominent location, but the place where you pick up the teddy bear out in the wasteland and then see a Super Mutant Behemoth charging over the hill towards you. A few mini-nukes saw to him, though :)

Pre-nuked megaton
Post-nuked megaton. Once you get over the crater rim in your radiation suit, the time-portal to pre-apocalyptic Georgetown was really cool.
....wait there's a TIME PORTAL!?!?!
.......awwwwwww I don't wanna nuke Megaton......but I LOVE Time Travel.

Anyway my favourite place in the Washington wasteland has to be Button Gwinnet's place. Because he is just goddamn awesome.

The Gary Vault (GARY!!!)
The Hallucinagen Vault (Blowing up people you know is fun!)
The Dunwich Building (I was wearing a Ghoul Mask.)

But mostly? The little stantytown with ghouls in it where I accidentally blew up a bus beside me that killed EVERYBODY...but I didn't get a scratch.

No, there's no time portal. You can't even get over the crater rim. But let me know if anybody succeeds in doing it.

I also have to second evergreen mills. I had to play it twice before I realized you could shoot the generators and release the behemoth.

That was really disapointing... I was looking forward to doing the Riverdance on Moriarty's smouldering ashes.

The city over run with Death claws, cant remember its name, its the one you get the experimental Medic Armour in. It takes allot of strategy and balls to take on a horde of Death claws.
