Ah stealth games dont you just love that bulging satisfaction in your groin every time you outsmart a lonely guard, Well i was just wondering since there are so many of you fans out there what you favorite aspect is Weather it be the Conversations between Npcs or the free formed complexities of the maps and levels like me.

When I can mess with people

Halo: Reach's Hologram on multiplayer allows me to either:
Sneak into an enemy base
Sneak up behind someone and assassinate them as they chase down a hologram

Stealth is fun when the methods of stealth are quite varied.

Being the smartest fuck in the room, even if the stupidity of my enemies means that isn't much of an achievement.

Sometimes I just like letting all the guards live because they won't detect me. I can get through the map avoiding them all. I love games where I can set up traps and lure people into them. Not the quickest move, but very satisfying.

Usually the fact that its not a first person shooter rendered in every color of the gun metal grey or apocalypse brown spectrum. It's different.

I got a bit of a hate/love thing going on with stealth games. I love being the one in charge(I guess you could say), who plans ahead and kills off people in the dark. I hate having to replay levels every time you screw up. I'm also an extremly inpatient man...

Ordered Splinter Cell: Double Agent today. Let's see how that works out!

The "dicking around with people" aspect.

Sneaking up behind a guard, snapping his neck and then dragging him off to somewhere his mates can get distracted by him before scattering out to look for you. Whereupon you pluck them down one by one since they strayed from their original posts. That kind thing.

And i loved the stealth in Arkham Asylum although it did get kinda old after a while to swoop down and play piñata with the guards until only one remained so you could put a boot in his face.

I like stringing the clowns up from gargoyles and hearing the other thugs' fear.

I count Arkham Asylum, I get bored of other stealth games.

Depends on the game. I like picking people off like in Arkham Asylum to mess with them, that gives me a warm feeling. Aforementioned B:AA did very well in that regard.

If I can get past everyone without killing a person, I will. More skill and fun to do that in my opinion. Hopefully once "Thi4f" comes out, steam will put thief 2 up, so I can play that.

That moment in your game where you sneak by EVERYONE and kill your target.

Ladies and gentlemen, that is Hiitman 2.

The ability to hide under a cardboard box: It's the perfect disguise! I also enjoy the fact that it's not as direct and the overall tension of being discovered.

Being a predator, picking the guards off one by one by one, until there's just one left. I only play stealth games if they have knifes, none of this "knock them out" nonsense.

I've always loved that sort of thing.

I loved being able to pick your strategy in games like Thief and Hitman. None of these forced linear stealth levels like Splinter Cell.

I also loved seeing the thugs in Arkham Asylum lose their cool as I picked them off one by one, in various ways. Of course, when they rigged the gargoyles to explode later on, I felt my tension skyrocket. You never realize how dependent you were on those things until they took them away from me.

I don't know if this really counts but in an old PS2 game Predator: Concrete Jungle *puts up flame shield* the game gave you the perfect weapon to mess with people. The voice replay device the predator has can be used while cloaked to get an enemy to wander away from his friends, on his own, so you can quietly slit his throat.

There was also a challenge level later on where these devices are giving off a signal that jams your cloak. So you have to be genuinely stealthy until you get to the point where you disable said devices.

Definitely a Metal Gear Solid 3 or 4 aspect how the game tells you how camouflaged you are, i also love how you can unlock the Stealth Camo, but i'm a sucker for chokeholds and CQC tactics.

I also love planting explosives w/o the enemy knowing, another fun stealth series is splinter cell, Conviction was awesome

Non-lethal takedowns. Sure, it may be possible without stealth, but I always prefer sneaking around and choking people until they pass out or tranqing them from the shadows.

I like both Hitman and splinter cell. I would never let myself get out of a level without silent assassin on Hitman, in fact I'd be even more of a dick to myself and say that only accidents were allowed. and in splinter cell I wouldn't fire a single bullet or gadget instead opting for grabbing every single enemy in a choke hold.

Then splinter cell: conviction came out and I was sad. It was a fun game but it wasn't a splinter cell game. If they'd just created an entirely new series called Conviction or something and tweaked some plot details then I would have been happy because this would mean that more classic style splinter cell games may be in the pipeline.

I have always liked puzzle games and to me stealth games are puzzle games, usually there is more than one solution to the puzzle and that only makes the one you choose the right one.
