In the movie, the hulk hands down. Iron-man is a close second though
This is my stance on this thread too. I like how Hulk is written, but for some reason I enjoy Iron Man's concept better.

It's very close, but I prefer the hulk in this movie.

In the movie, Captain America. Always a solid choice, and done very well by Chris Evans.

My favorite in the comics: She-Hulk. I would love to see her in a movie in some capacity, but only if she's doing her lawyer thing

Superhuman law is one of the most unnecessarily entertaining things around

Captain America he's a hero that's at least interesting and one can actually aspire to be like.

Once again I will say the entire roster of the 'great lakes avengers' is the best. They have Squirrel Girl after all.

Iron Man for his snark, Hulk for his awesome moments, and then the Tony Stark/Bruce Banner friendship was so great.

At this point Iron Man but I?ve not seen Thor or Captain America yet.
Hawkeye was pretty awesome for what little we saw of him too.

HULK. I have been a Hulk fan since I was a kid. Smash, smash, and smash some more. Nothing else need be said.

I always thought Thor was kind of goofy. His standalone movie improved my opinion considerably.

I never cared one way or another about Iron Man until his first movie kicked so much ass it wrapped around the universe and started kicking itself from behind. Now I like him.

As for Cap, Widow, and Hawkeye -- eh. I like for my heroes to have powers, something to set them apart (aside from years of training, of course). Just a personal preference. Avengers did as good a job with them as everyone else, I was as interested in them as I could be.

That's a tough one >.<

I'd probably go for Iron Man because he's funniest and so badass. I know I should probably dislike him for being a bit of a prick, but I just can't!
I liked the Iron Man movies best out of the recent Marvel movies too. His suitcase suit was just epic.
Also Robert Downey Jr is so incredibly attractive, that never hurts.

Hulk I was surprised at too. I would love a Hulk film with Ruffalo, he was just great as the part.

Also I liked how Hawkeye and Black Widow still managed to be absolutely awesome, even though they didn't exactly have superpowers or fancy suits.

I have to throw my weight behind Cap. To me, he's the very embodiment of a superhero, one who will keep getting up and fighting, willing to defend what he needs to defend. Plus he has the kick-ass shield, and is a great leader.

Chris Evans also nailed his character, which is good because played wrong and he could become a massive pain.

Bruce Banner, in the film. He was just so wonderfully on-edge at all times. The movie really captured Bruce in a way I don't think any film has before - a nervous, meek man who seems to have liquid fear pouring out from his little frame. Every time he moved so much as a finger everyone was watching and at least one person was scared.

Watching several superheros and a god flinch every time a meek scientist lost his cool really helped to underline the fact that the Hulk really was the most terrifying thing any of the Avengers faced in the film.

...and then, suddenly, the Hulk was a different character during the last showdown in the city, but I'll ignore that in hopes that a DVD with deleted scenes helps to show exactly how/why the Hulk goes through such a dramatic change.

It's gotta be the Hulk because he's mega plus he has the whole Jekyl & Hyde thing going on. Besides, the only way to defeat Hulk would be not to fight him which I find very appealing.

I didn't actually think the actor who played Banner, whose name I can't even remember, was much good though. In a movie like the Avengers he really is just a vehicle for the Hulk so that's okay.
