Depends on the map... but I like using UVA blocker and silence weapons and sneak around with a SMG... It is so much fun totally slaughtering all those snipers that sit back XD

Anyone who mentions juggernaut as in one of their classes should be ashamed. I HATE juggernaut especually when coupled with matyrdom. When a headshot isnt a 1 hit kill with a sniper it ceases to be realistic modern warfare and becomes magical supersoldier modern warfare. I allow it for noobs who dont know any better but anyone else gets an "unsporting play" negative review. Its harsh but fair.

I find these classes the most fun by far

if you want more "realistic modern warfare" why don't you just play hardcore mode? at least there snipes usually kill in one hit and always if in the head. don't blame other people who want to play the game their own way too for spoiling your strictly intense realistic fun by using a perfectly reasonable strategy that's in the game and therefore meant to be used, especially if you're looking for realism and are too pussy to go to hardcore. talk about noobs.

I think that's what the setup was, anyway. Regardless, it was effective.

I was a fan of this method myself.

It is always hard to choose stopping power or steady aim since I don't like actually pulling up the iron sights on the shotgun.

My favorite though was probably:

1x Smoke

I tended to use the M-14 about half the time - the rest was spent with M-16/Shotgun/MP5/G3, I never did get into using the P90 even though any time I'd pick one up I'd usually go on a brutal killing spree.

I almost always use a silencer when I can, since I always play non-hardcore, and you can get almost the same accuracy unless you use a gun with shit iron sights.

In COD 4, I have two general classes which I use most of the time:

Assault:
AK-47 with silencer
Perk 1: Bandolier
Perk 2: Stopping power
Perk 3: Deep Impact (very useful on showdown)

Sub:
P90 with silencer
Perk 1: Bandolier
Perk 2: Stopping power
Perk 3: Steady aim
With this class you can do an excellent job by staying in one area and dashing from each entrance to the next, cutting down anyone trying to move into the area. Also works well with Mini-Uzi, as they're both good for hip fire.

And I use a couple of more esoteric ones which I have a certain fondness for:

Hunter:
M14 with red dot sight
Perk 1: 3x Frags
Perk 2: Stopping power
Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning
This class is good for out maneouvering the enemy and picking them off, although you have neither a UAV Jammer nor a silencer to protect your location. Use Extreme Conditioning to bolt for it when you need to.

And the classic that has been recounted multiple times already:
Ninja:
Any decent gun with silencer
Perk 1: 3x Frags
Perk 2: UAV Jammer
Perk 3: Dead Silence
Of course, you just have to make sure you don't fall for the idea that not being on the radar makes you invisible.

I know this is more than a little self indulgent, but COD 4 is one of the few games I'm certain I'm good at online.

It is possible to survive a headshot...its a myth that games have brought about. I think reporting people who use juggernaught is unfair as its part of the game, you have a perk in the same slot that gives you a different advantage.

Lol, the last comment is slightly harsh but he has a point! haha. If you are complaining about such things play Hardcore! A game only real men are allowed to play

when I played a while ago the p90 (think it was that) just raped everything in the face. sniper was pointless since maps where so small, and being out side meant being raped by AI helicopters.

I still need to buy the game and play it more I suppose, maybe its not as overated as I think.

G3 + G36C both with grenade launchers (gives you 4 grenades .. a real cheap trick) and either extreme conditioning or steady aim... its a cheap trick but it when it works you get easily get a chopper every time before you die

I usually play Normal mode and have a number of classes i like to use -

Sniper- (I enjoy sniping and usually have two classes for it)
bolt action (Either), stopping power, smoke nade, extreme conditioning, and bandolier sometines clays - i hate sniper camp and believe if I don't hear someone coming i deserve to get knifed.

Standard assault rifle class, (rarely used)

SMG ninja class with bandolier

Shotty ninja class with frags

hardcore mode, i go for silenced g3 with uav jammer, dead silence and 3 flashbangs. G3 = ridiculously overpowered in hardcore and they never see it coming.
