My personal favorite is Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, followed Soul Calibur IV, both great games with tons of playablility.

Post your own, and be sure to tell why.

Tekken 4, easy. It was so smooth and easy to pick up and play. Plus, Bryan Fury was in it, which is an added bonus.

I've been a diehard Street Fighter fan all my life, but I'm sure that's a love story everyone's already heard. Quarters, greasy joysticks, dusty cartridges, calloused thumbs, flaming uppercuts... You know the story like the back of your hand by now, I'm sure.

Instead, I'll touch on a game that doesn't get much recognition: War of the Monsters. It combines a cast of monsters echoing the cheesy rubber-suit horror movies of the 1950's with a contemporary setting and mindset, and the result is beautiful. I can't really say much for the controls; even as a fan, I have to admit that they were pretty sloppy. Still, it was a very fun fighting game for fans of that particular genre of movies, especially with a few friends.

Tekken, but only the kind they had at really good mall arcades where you had to stand on the spot on the floor, then your character mimicked the motions you actually made. Coolest way to play a fighting game ever.

I'm not a huge Fighter fan but I'll name a few..
Melty Blood: Act Cadanza- a cool little fighter with some interesting moves
King of Fighters '98-The best of the series in my opinion (before all the weird leather wearing characters)
Soul Calibur 3- because I haven't played Soul Calibur 4 yet

Soul Calibur III is my favourite fighting game ever. Probably because I have never lost a match (Kilik is so overpowered in III).

Probably have to be Street Fighter 2, Soul Calibur 2, and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Seems like the later versions of all those games just aren't quite as good.

My favorite is Super Smash Bros. Brawl. My friends and I have so much fun with it. It's just about the only thing we do at parties.

One of the Guilty Gears. I'm a sucker for the Rock Soundtrack.

Yes sir!

For me, any of the Marvel vs. Capcom or Xmen vs. Street Fighter-esque games, or possibly Dead or Alive 4.

FUCK YEA that game was awesome, me and my pals would play it all the time.

As for me, I was a BIG Killer Instinct fan, that was THE fighting game for me, especially since I loathed Mortal kombat. Soul Calibur 2 was heaps of fun as well as DOA 3. The origional Smash bros is the only one I like out of the series and as soon as i get my Hands of Dissidia I will be one happy gamer.

I have yet to dabble into Guilty gear but I have heard nothing but goods things about it. I might have to try it some time and if I like it, it will give me incentive to go pick up the upcomming one for the PSP.

I'd have to say Street Fighter Alpha 3 followed by KOF series then all the cross overs MVC2, X-Men vs Street Fighter, SNK vs Capcom.
Honourable mentions to SFIII Strike, Soul Calibur 2/3/4, Rumble Fish, Darkstalkers & The Last Blade.

I might have mentioned more then I should have or left out some good titles but I just like fighting games.

I'll be the first to say this:

Bloody Roar 2.

Me and my friends still play it at parties, and have been since grade 7.
