Your Favorite Final Fantasy Character

Edgar from Final Fantasy VI because of his dangerous selection of tools, especially the drill.

Then I'm gonna have to choose Tifa from VII, primarily because of her fruit machine-style wheels for her limit break (a strong sense of satisfaction rises from locking on a series of combos without hitting many, if any misses)
Plus I felt she was best for using the Deathblow materia (with the odd Luck infusion packages) as I used her to hit the final form of Jenova 9 out of 10 times for a nice crit around the chops

Agreed. Auron was not only a great character but such a good fighter. And I have a soft spot for Vivi. Poor little guy.

Fine. If I had to pick a favourite, I've always been oddly loyal to Squall but I think I relate to Seifer more. It's always got to be the bad guys with that one redeeming quality. I'm a total sucker for that whole broken knight charade he has going on at the end of the game. He also had a cooler battle stance along with a nicer gunblade.

I also like Zidane a ton because he isn't broody, snarky, or a generic badarse.

Auron simply for being the veteran who knows everything and hitting for a shit ton of damage from day 1.

And my true favourite who I never remove from my party unless I have to since he's a freaking tank and can still hit hard:

Lightning from FF13.

I haven't actually played any FF game, but Lightning is without a doubt the best character. Doesn't seem to listen or take shit from any of the other incompetent characters. If Sony wasn't trying to make the game accessible to all ages, Lightning would probably ruthlessly beat most of the other characters and bitchslap the women, because that's what they deserve.
