You know, I could just name some company that made a series I really liked, like you did, but I won't.

Instead, I'll say Sierra. I don't think I've played a Sierra game I didn't like (except for Kings Quest, which is kinda universally hated anyways).

Valve.

Strong game output, excellent tech support.
Created Steam when Microsoft (who Valve approached, among others, as possible co developers) stated that kind of system wouldn't be practical for perhaps another twenty years. Gained a strangle hold on PC gaming as a result and so far shows no sign of abusing this position of massive power.
Could do better on deadlines, but if the trade off is high quality I'm willing to wait.

Valve, for the fact that they actually seem to care about their art, not just their money

Bioware, for the first KotOR and ME

Ubisoft (not one particular branch) for Assassin's creed and Splinter Cell

EDIT:

Ubisoft, Thank you for the Prince of persia trilogy. Valve... no explanation necessary. Besthesda for now... Fallout 3 is awesome.

EA because of all their tech support...oh who am I kidding? I can't do that with a straight face.

Gonna go with Valve, mostly because of Steam and I have never had a problem with any of their services before.

Anything and Everything EA...not.

Valve- Awesome string of games for reasonable prices and great replay values, and as Pandah has said Steam is a pretty good perk aswell.

Dice- Mirrors edge demo is made of win.

Edit: I'd like to add Epic Games to my list. The Unreal Engine and Gears are amazing as well.

That was a easy one: Valve for making so many amazing games which probably needs no explanations. An another great game company is capcom which has brought many hours of joy with its megaman games. Yea, there are tons of other great game developers, but theres all the ones I wanted to mention.

I'd have to say Valve for its community support, Double Fine for its originality, and Bethesda for long addictive games.

Blizzard. I still play a lot of their games to this day. Diablo 2 has a ton of replay value, as does Star Craft. Say what you want about WoW, but it is a huge game world packed with things to do and people to play with.

They are a company dedicated to quality over quantity.

I'll go with Bethesda for the Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3, Harmonix for the first few Guitar Hero games and Rock Band and Neversoft for the last few Guitar Hero games and the Tony Hawk's series.

Ubisoft - because they gave me the only game series I ever enjoyed enough to play all the way through. Splintercell though ubi-Montreal was the best for the series

Realtime worlds cause they are really close to me and I can get a QA tester position there in 3rd year at UNI. DUNDEE FTW!(+ crackdown is a great game for mucking about on)

also Valve for obvious reasons(source engine and steam), bethesda(for some of my favourite games ever), Squaresoft (not Square-enix) before they merged the FF games were awesome.

you couldn't find this topic? I'm pretty sure there are countless threads like this one.

And now, it's Valuable Contribution Time!

I'm gonna go with the masses and say Valve.
Also Ubisoft, for the Far Cry series, for the Splinter Cell series and for Rayman 3.
Microsoft for Rise Of Nations (and my O.S.)
Bethesda for Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3.
Bioware for Mass Effect.
2K Games for Bioshock.
Westwood for the Red Alert games.
Creative Assembly/Sega for all the Total War games.
GSC Gameworld for STALKER Clear Sky.
Nadeo for Trackmania
Sierra Entertainment for World In Conflict.
Blizzard for Warcraft 3.
Activision for the Call of Duty series.
Whoever made the Source mod "A Corny Voyage".
And finally EA, yes EA, for the Battlefield series. (Battlefield Heroes Beta Key FTW!)

I've probably missed out a few but, meh.
