Time to clamp my lips around this game again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSCOaowF2UI, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOGtv7qlF2s&feature=related

No other game was decent at having Mechas in them, especially fully customizable combat ones ;F, srsly u could give them 2 separate weps as arms depending on ur needs and legs/chest with different stats and powers and that shit was still balanced.

Jersey Devil (PS1), Incredible Crisis (PS1), Gundam: Battle Assault (PS1), Soldiers of Fortune (Genesis), BattleTech (Genesis), Power Stone (DC/PSP), Phantasy Star IV (Genesis - Nobody I know played it. I still have the Strategy guide for it.) EVERY SINGLE FINAL FANTASY BEFORE VII, AND AFTER IT.

Firestriker for the SNES. It was absolutely awful but I loved it.

Does Silent Hill count? I've met 1 person on Xbox Live who's heard of Silent Hill. 1 person.
In that case, Silent Hill 2.

Magi-nation. One of the better catch-em-all cardgames to come out of the Pokemon fad.

The franchise actually had a decent following from like 2000-2004, but apparently there's a cartoon with terrible production values and completely lacking most of the original design work in favor of vaguely generic anime visuals.

My favourite game that never made it big, and almost nobody has ever head of is EMPEROR OF THE FADING SUNS for PC.

An old empire management and intrigue game. Where you begin as one of several noble houses. Starting off with choosing various perks and penalties. Such as being INBREAD. Then you try to maneuver yourself into a position of power through periodic Regent elections, or swaying the favour of the church or merchants guild. There is a tremendous amount of tech research and unit variety.

At this point I think I should mention it is something like the year 20000. And we are fighting over an empire of dozens of star systems. And not only must you battle in space, and transport units or resources between worlds. but then your competing for ownership of all the worlds on the ground level. With naval, air and ground forces. Added to it are two NPC factions, a high-tech xenophobic alien race. And a viral mutation gone rampant that is spreading through physical contact among the worlds. And YES, your own units while in combat may be converted to mutants.

There were several issues that never got properly patched. However die-hard fans have created a number of unofficial mods to resolve those issues and better balance several issues.
To date I still love to play this PC title from 1996.

If you love a 4 dimensional resource and empire building RTS, that does not emphasize military conquest as your only option. EFS is a good choice. I am biased, and provided you patch with the unofficial patches. I would give it a 3.5 / 5
But regardless, I love this game and still play it religiously. Right next to my Tie Fighter game.

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment on PS1. Really cool story and cool system. To get new personas, you talk with demons to get cards to summon new personas instead of having a random chance to get a random persona. The downside is that there's no fusion. You can also do fusion spells. Have 3 characters "casting" agi, magnus (earth) and aquas one after the other to do a big water attack.

The story is pretty weird with rumors becoming reality. You can spread rumors like "That store sells weapons" or "That arcade is in fact a casino where you can win big on the slot machines". The rumors have a big influence on the story like "If you call your own cell phone, the Joker will answer and grant you a wish". Later, it becomes "If you call your own cell phone, the Joker will answer and will kill someone for you".

Secret weapons over Normandy. That was a good ww2 game.
I loved Secret Weapons Over Normandy, one of the best fighter sim games I've played.

Anyways, I got to say my favorite game is Gladius. It was a gladiator RPG where you built up your own school of gladiators and competed across the world in different arenas. It was a deep game full of customization and options.

Here is the E3 2003 trailer for that game

Radiata Stories for the PS2. An awesome JRPG with a great art style, clever writing, 177 possible squadmates, and a whole lot more. It's made by Tri-Ace, the people who did Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile. I consider it my favorite RPG of all time. You can pick it up for like 6 bucks, now, so I highly recommend it.

I often talk to people about videogames whether they play them or not, but not even other gamers seem to know about the Banjo Kazooie series. They just look at me like I've gone mad. Even more so once I start talking about it. The only people I know who have played it are my own siblings.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. In fact all of the games in the SMT series could be considered this, except for the Persona series.
