Fatal Frame. That game is so scary that it made me sleep with the lights on for two days straight. Of course, no one has heard of it. It's crazy that people talk about Silent Hill and Resident Evil being scary games, but they have nothing on Fatal Frame. I don't understand why it isn't popular.
Exactly this. I can safely say that this series doesn't get the credit it needs.

Fallout Tactics.
It's an amazingly good game, but it seems like nobody's ever heard of it.

and no, I don't mean that brotherhood of steel abomination on the consoles.

Never played any of the Fatal Frame games, but I saw clips for one coming out and really wnated to try it! Then I heard it was only to be released in Japan...

OT I don't hear a lot of talk about the Tales series, particularly Tales of Symphonia. Amazing, deep, and intuitive RPG, yet little to no hype whatsoever. So far as I've seen, anyways.

It's been released out of Japan, It's definately been released in the USA and same in the UK, but over here it's called Project Zero, for some bizzare reason. I really recommend it.

Oddly enough, in a recent RPG reccommendation thread, the Tales series actually got reccommended a fair bit. It's too bad there isn't more discussion on it.

Okami.

Pretty much a cult hit, it's not that popular. No one I know, knows about it. But it's basically one of the best games I've ever played.

Other than that, *shrug*, I've missed out on a ton of other good unpopular games.

I would have to say Breakdown. Amazing story, interesting game play, and awesome first person action. Probably one of my top five games on the original xbox, yet I've never even heard anyone mention it. I got it by accident myself, but possibly the greatest accident I have ever made :D

Primal on the PS2. That game was just awesome for every second I played it. I found it to be unique and fun and the only bad thing I can remember about it is the ending.

A lot of my gaming library consist of these...xD But as for my favorites, it'd have to be Shadow Hearts, Rule of Rose, and Drakengard. Fantastic games yet no one really cares about them.

Tales Series. Best JRPG games ever. The biggest thing is it's a hit in Japan and there is a kind of small devoted following in the states, but you have to be looking in the right circles to even find them. Plus JRPGs tend to get a bad rep here in general anyway
