The Nazis from Brothers in Arms. You almost feel some compassion for them, because the game depicts them as human beings rather than creatures formed out of pure malevolence. Let's say you're fighting some. You're on the MG, and three try to rush into the tower you're defending. You kill one. One might go in, but another might stay behind, to try and help the guy you just massacred, and you get a sense of mourning, and then a slight degree of guilt as you mow that guy down, too.
