one of the best bad games ever made
if you've played it you'll also be unable to explain quite why but probably agree with me
Oh god, playing on the Tatooine level with invincibility is one of the funniest gaming moments in history. You cough on a droid or something, and the entire town loses its shit and decides to completely decimate your character. I used to spend hours on that level alone. Still, bad game.

My favourite horrible game is Digimon World 2003. I've played it 3 times, and the thing is, I can tell that it's a horribly repetitive, gimmicky JRPG with horrible turn-based combat and horrendously bad animation/graphics. But there's just something about it.

I loved that game, and yes it was awful. Have you ever used a couple of those cheats that allowed you to change camera perspective? Try playing that game with Obi-Wan's head making up 60% of the screen. For added amusement, be drunk with a friend while playing.

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, yeah, I actually kind of enjoyed the game at some points.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.

Hear me out on this one. I know a lot of people LOVE this game but they're almost without a doubt the hardcore RPG nerd crowd like myself. Absolutely anyone not familiar with RPGs, or even those that are but are more used to the FF/SO variety would consider this game terrible. It is brutally difficult, more than a 50% of the enemies can OHKO you, there's virtually no story beyond a base framework, and the stat and demon system could not be less intuitive if it was in Latin.

Some might argue that because of its niche popularity it's just meant to appeal to a single group. But that's the point, just about anyone outside of that group would consider this a broken and horrible game.

Yes. Me too. I have played this game like three times. I KNOW it's just cashing in on a popular franchise and that it butchers the characters sooo bad. WHY DO I LIKE PLAYING IT? 8C

Definitely this. I bought the game cheap, had to use cheats to get past some levels (Padme's levels were played as Obi Wan, for instance), and after letting my sister go on the computer, she managed to infect our computer with a virus and everything was wiped. Installed the game again, wouldn't work. Was GUTTED!

Another bad game that I enjoyed: Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. REALLY loved that game, despite some people hating it.

Oh my god...You're right.

I used to borrow that game from my friend back in the day ALL THE TIME. I don't know why.

There really is just something about it that I can't quite put my finger on that made it so damn wonderful. Tatooine was probably the most kickass level ever.

Orphen: Scion of Sorcery for the PS2. It's just one of those games you have to see for yourself. I don't even know if it can be called an RPG or an adventure game, or whatever, but it is the best worst game I have ever played.

Big Rigs is fun but so very, very crappy. It should be noted that it's only really fun when you're reversing at eight times the speed of light and drinking. Any other time it's just horrendously bad.

The original Call of Duty. It's bland, the characters are without backstory, there's the usual bit of destroying the entire German army on your own, and the levels suck. Wait, there is one quite brilliant exception: the first level of the Soviet campaign in Stalingrad, even though that was hampered by the fact that you're the protagonist, ergo you would make it across the Volga unscathed. Still fun for blowing off a bit of steam every now and then...

I just know you are not going to last long here.
No one else seems to have picked up on his disgusting blaspheming.

I actually consider it the best, and it's the only game I'll ever quote a Eurogamer article on (we fell out after they called both Mafia games GTA clones - yes, they're that stupid):

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/call-of-duty-retrospective

The concluding paragraph says it perfectly (this was written around MW2's release, just for context):

"Never mind the fact that they might have just made the biggest-selling videogame of all time. Playing the original game again, I feel like this series could have been more than that."
