I admit I like their songs if you can ignore the heavy Christian overtones, but every song they do seems to be some kind of love song to Jesus/God. It's good for them to have their beliefs and to be passionate about them but it's not really my taste.
i'm a hardcore atheist and still it doesn't bother me(much)
one of my favorite songs is christmas song

even though it's as christian as it could get it's just sung as a sad story rather than a religious foundation

Thanks to WWE, I have discovered a lot of great, lesser known bands like Our Lady Peace, Shaman's Harvest, Creed, and Alter Bridge.

Here, have some!

Machinae Supremacy. Awesome band, well worth listening to if you like some alternative metal. The early material was closer to chip tunes, the later records are more of standard heavy metal.

I feel old, if Creed is lesser known.

I feel Canadian if OLP is lesser known, but that makes sense, since I am.

There are a lot of great 80s bands that faded into obscurity for one reason or another.

One of my personal favourites (warning: GLAM ahead)

Sisters of Mercy (probably their most well known track, and least gothic)

And I suppose The Cult isn't very well known nowadays - but I think they're great.

EDIT: Almost forgot Autograph - most well known as 'the guys that did that song that was in GTA: Vice City and Alpha Protocol'.

the Saints

i don't know about the rest of the world but Astralia pretends like they never happened. these guys album was released independently before that of the Ramones despite soudning like they could have shared a stage with the Clash. You think being at the forefront of one of musics most imporant movements would give you some credit in your home nation...but no.

(also nick drake-pink moon 1972 island records)

The Blackout are a (fairly) lesser known band, a new rock band from wales. check out 'the best in town' album for an insite to them.
also look at black spiders for a proper rockin' time. they have a song called 'KISS tried to kill me', have epic beards and ask the crowd to give them the middle finger and shout 'FUCK YOU BLACK SPIDERS!' if that isn't a reason to like them :D

Right now for me it's Beats Antique.

Pretty amazing what sounds and instruments people are smashing together these days, and how awesome it sounds when they do! There also may be a lot of shitty dubstep sound out there, but there's some amazing things it can do when you use it right!

Obligatory Sound Tribe post

I will always have a love for these guys.

And finally some (more, always more) good jam coming out of CO.

Yamn. Love these guys.
