Wow, I'm spending way too much time in this thread. Anywho, lesser known bands, right.
Still lesser known, but I'm sure they've been mentioned already due to the recent Dark Souls trailer being played before Youtube videos, but I'll mention them again.
The Silent Comedy
The Riot Before. A good punk band. Also, this isn't my favorite song by them, it's just one of their better ones.
I'll put these next few in spoilers to avoid clutter.
The Gay Blades is an amazing band, and I can see them becoming very popular soon, which is a good thing.
Innerpartysystem is a good dubsteppy/drum&bassy/rocky type band, and I like them a lot
Note: The person in this video isn't the singer.
I'm sure at least one of these bands has been mentioned already, but I tried to avoid mentioning bands that were already mentioned in the first few pages. I hope someone actually reads this post and listens
Dinosaur JR... a very influential band from the mid 80's that help kick start the Alternative genre and reintroduced the idea of the lead guitar in the 90's... even though they got semi popular in the 90's they were just sort of forgotten and even though still releasing albums to this day they haven never had any kind of mass popularity...<.<
2006 and still awesome...<.<
The Drags... I don't know much at all about the Drags... all I know is that they've released 3 albums since the late 80's and they're one of my favorite punk bands of all time... their last album, Set Fit Right To Blow Clean Up, in particular was a very inventive punk album... it's like Jimi Hendrix knocked up Black Flag and it was exposed to radiation that resulted in a good singer...<.<
not my favorite sing off the album but it's hard to find stuff by them...<.<
Quite possibly Scald. They were a Russian epic doom metal band that sadly broke up after the untimely death of their vocalist after only one official recording.
Their album didn't have the greatest production values (like a young metal band from Russia in the 90's is really expected to anyway?), but it did have one of the most passionate performances I have ever heard and I'm happy to own a physical copy of the album.
Venaculous. You won't really know who they are unless you're from here or have seen them play at some other smaller places. I don't like Limp Biscuit much but they sound kinda like them but a lot better.
