Yes! Thank you. Crowning moment of Sean Bean right there. One of my favorite movie scenes ever.

Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me! A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship. But it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the age of Men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand! Men of the West!

That is all...
That is all?? How about just after that:

*Turns to the camera with soft tears in eyes* ...For Frodo. YEAAAAAHAHHH! *Charges in*
*Merry and Pippin do their little hobbit battlecry and charge in*
*Everyone charges in*

Just freakin' awesome.

The whole trilogy is just brimming with memorable scenes, lines, and characters. My wife gets annoyed when we watch it together, because I can practically quote the first two movies word for word. The extended editions.

But danged if they aren't great movies.

I just love that speech, everything about it. It's just so heartwarming and hopeful. Absolutely perfect.

This is a contender for me, but the most heart wrenching scene for me, short of the very end at the grey havens, is Pippin's song and the suicidal charge of the knights of Minas Tirith in Return of the King.

I'm not ashamed to admit I had tears in my eyes when I first watched it in the movies.

EDIT: Holy sporks, how did I forget this scene?
I love, love, LOVE Andy Serkis' performance as Gollum, and I was so obsessed with him that I ended up with a not half bad Gollum voice, and knew most of his lines by heart.

in the second film

after they've retreated into the fort at Helm's Deep

King Theoden's Speech 'The horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep, one last time'

"Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath. Now for ruin. And the red dawn!"

that bit and the charge out :D

That's OK, I'm getting all teary-eyed watching most of these scenes right now.

No seriously, I think my favorite was the first time you see Mordor with Sam, Frodo, and Gollum. The colour scheme is perfect.

There are so many but for me its got to be the charge of the Rohirrim in Return of the King, starting at Gandalf's comforting Pippin, and then when you hear the horns and Rohan's signature Celtic music swells up (you know the bit) as they appear on the horizon, I get goosebumps every single time. Then as they charge the Orcs try and form a defense but not even a hail of arrows can slow or break the charge and the Orcs start to fall back just before the charge hits them, the fear in that smug Orc commanders face is perfect.

Funny a thread like this would appear today, since the night to yesterday I watched all the LOTR movies again. <.<

There are so many great scenes in the movies, I can't pick one single one. But just because I have to mention something I'm going to say when Merry and Pippin sings about their favourite brew. From the Green Dragon! xD

"YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"

That, and the entire battle scene from Two Towers. Especially the scene a little bit before when that kid gets a helmet put on him. Really shows just how desperate they were.

Not the 3rd?

My girlfriend is the first person who has accepted my proposal for a 12 hour LotR Extended edition marathon. Is than not awesome?
I can do most of the third, just not all.

And wife would totally do the same thing. Get a free Saturday or something, get a butt-load of microwave popcorn and easy-to-make foods, a case of coke, and a comfortable couch. What a freaking awesome, yet nerdy, day!

I can't find a video but It's the opening for The Two Towers where Gandalf falls with the Balrog and fights it on the way down.
