I just love that speech, everything about it. It's just so heartwarming and hopeful. Absolutely perfect.

This is a contender for me, but the most heart wrenching scene for me, short of the very end at the grey havens, is Pippin's song and the suicidal charge of the knights of Minas Tirith in Return of the King.

I'm not ashamed to admit I had tears in my eyes when I first watched it in the movies.

That's OK, I'm getting all teary-eyed watching most of these scenes right now.

Damn, you aren't the only one.

Also, the Battle of Pelennor Fields, the stand at the Black Gates, the Balrog showdown, and mostly every scene with Galadriel. LoTR is just one of those trilogies that is plain awesome and emotionally moving at the same time. Especially the Extended Editions.

Hearing Gollum curse a blue streak was trully the last great thing to emerge from MTV.

That is one of the most amazing awards ceremony scene's I have ever witnessed. Thank you.

Ahhh me and my friends decided to watch all three extended versions in a row.. it took us from 5pm-5am.... it was difficult, but rewarding.

OT: hmmm when legolas takes out the giant eliphant (oliphaunt or whatever they're called)
or sheildboarding legolas

any time when Legolas returns elves to their former glory. you see, elves were originally very badass(I can't remember which mythology they belonged to, but they were essentially grim reapers) then they spent some time in Santa's workshop and everyone forgets all that came before.

P.S. Is it not sad that LOTR is the only good book-to-movie adaptation on earth still to this day? I pray that the hobbit will be like the LOTR movies.

When the Dead Men of Dunharrow come rushing out of the boat behind Aragorn and start destroying everything in sight, then a couple minutes into the battle in the background you can see The Dead taking over an oliphaunt and bringing it down in seconds. Its hilarious.

On a more serious note I love the whole Boromir scene where he defends Merry and Pippin. I literally screamed "SCREW YOU ORC!" When he shot Boromir, then when Aragorn lopped off his head I gave him a standing ovation.

Since I have all 3 Extended Editions for LOTR (The few box sets that are worth getting.) it's hard for me!

It's the Rohirim Charge in Return of the King for me. Although it is unrealistic, 90% survived the charge and they still couldn't defeat 20 giant elephants.

My favorite part is (iirc) only in the books. It's the part near the end when the hobbits liberate the Shire after Saruman took over. The bit in Mordor when Sam carries the ring is also exceedingly cool (but much cooler in the books than in the movies).
