For the full film I would have to say the first one that popped into my head and that would be Tron Legacy but for the individual theme...

The Lord of the Rings, House of Flying Daggers, Harry Potter (those by John Williams) and Pirats of the Caribbean are all up there!

I'm also extremely fond of the soundtracks to Disney movies... especially Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Brother Bear, and Tarzan (gotta love Phil Collins!)

Okay, I'll go with what a lot have already said, I loved the soundtrack from the latest Tron movie. I loved it enough to actually go out and buy it. Which is the first time I've ever done that for a movie before. The soundtrack is even good out of context with the movie. I like the Lord of the Rings soundtrack however I don't think it quite works outside of the movies. I couldn't just put that CD in and listen to it like I would any other tune, however the Tron one... Yeah I could.

Hancock was surprisingly good, but I'm caught between Lord of the Rings (specifically Return of the King) and Inception. Damn good movies with damn, damn good soundtracks.

Failing those, the Lion King.

I quite like the Soundtrack to City of God (Cidade de Deus), it's a really great mix of traditional as well as "modern" Brazilian songs, not just amazing to listen to but set a great mood.


Gotta love that atmosphere.
