Hang on, was lunar silver story from squaresoft?
Nope, Working Design never localised for Square far as I know. Which is a shame, as then lines like "You spoony bard!" may have been replaced by something intentionally funny, and every Final Fantasy release would have loads of brilliant extras. The Lunar games were by Game Arts.

oh wow... so much choice....
of course, theres the classic Chrono Trigger. nobody can say that game is bad.
and, in a non rpg sense, theres bushido blade. it might be a bit dated now but the concept and gameply itself was hours and hours of multiplayer fun. and of course, the touching epic awesomeness of front mission 3... PHEAR MY MISSILEZ!
the parasite eve games were sweet too but im gonna have to go with......

Vagrant Story.
i remember when i got it, id only ever heard of it in the back of the FF8 manual. but i got it and loved it.
the weapon and armor system was so indepth, and the story, also slightly confusing the first time round was sublime. combine that with characters i just fell inlove with and names taken from shakespeare (Rosencrantz and guildenstern). made for a thourougly enjoyable experience.

of course the visual style, limited as it was on the ps1, was awesome, especially the comic like speech bubbles. a wonderful touch.
and once you finished it thr first time round you have the new game + mode. wich although i understand it may seem standard issue now, back then, in rpgs, it was quite rare. (i think CT had a new game + mode but i cant remember).

new areas, bosses, materials, weapons, even a few extra cutscenes.

just talking about it makes me want to play it again.

oh! and the battle system! wonderful.... its a shame im in a rush to go out, because i could talk forever about the battle system..... i like to think of it as the basis for the battle system in FFXII (just better.)

ive actually got a massive collection of squaresoft games... im stubborn and refuse to refer to them as square-enix (spits). am i a puppet to thier corperate whims? yes. and im ok with that :p

I believe kingdom hearts counts, so I vote that.
Agree i loved kingdom hearts..couldn't get far before the novelty wore off when you were Roxas in the second game, however.
I didn't mind it that much, I just basically had no damn clue wtf was going on 90% of the time.

That being said I did every single possible thing you can do in the game so like 99% or something completed, but at that point I got bored right before the final boss fight, so I never beat the game lol.

Edit: KH2 that is, did all of KH1.

Einhander. Back when I was still using my PS2 I was wishing that Square re-made this game and featured even larger bosses and better graphics.

Onyx Oblivion

TWEWY was Square Enix and Jupiter. Not Squaresoft. But its still quite good, even if I did end up not playing it so much that I maxed out my pins through not playing.

Err...Crystal Chronicles?

I mean seriously it doesn't even seem to be set in the universe at all...
Even given the almost total lack of continuity between FF games...(exceptions being FFX-2 and Dirge of Cerberus)

Edit:

Surprisingly it holds up on its own quite well without the support of more familiar and classic FF elements, those damned flying teddy-bear moogles and other strange fauna notwithstanding.

Chrono Trigger, hands down.

Baring that obvious choice Legend of Mana is a flawed personal favorite, I also loved Saga Frontier 2, The World Ends with You, Xenogears and Front Mission 3.

Chrono Cross is a terrible sequel to Chrono Trigger, but a fine game when judged by its own merrits.
I LOVED CHRONO CROSS =O

I have had to of played through that game at least 10 times

Romancing Saga 3.
I guess the Japs were right when they said that stupid Americans wouldn't understand this game. So they went and made Final Fantasy USA instead.

Tossup between Super Mario RPG and Ehrgeiz. Both have a notorious reputation of being underestimated; people who haven't played it tend to think Mario RPG is a simplistic, Mystic Quest style "For Beginners" RPG, when it's actually got quite a bit of depth, and even difficulty in spots, and that Ehgeiz was a crappy Tekken ripoff.

Parasite Eve, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Breath of Fire, Secret of Evermore, Bahamut Lagoon, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Xenogears. That's about it. Too bad you only sad Squaresoft Games otherwise I would have said Terranigma from Enix...
