Your Favorite Non-Mainstream RPG

Persona 3 FES was pretty damn awesome. I don't know if you can call it mainstream (since I never heard of it before purchase -- it was a gamble), and I don't know who makes it. It was a fantastic play though.

Not as mainstream as Final Fantasy or Dragonquest though.

Persona 3FES/3P/4, Wild Arms 2/3, and Tales of Vesperia, and SMT:Strange Journey love each of these games to death even if I haven't beat WA3 or SJ.

Only ones I've played though were Abyss and Vesperia.

You didn't mention Lionhead, but I guess Fable is a pretty Well known series.

Hmm, I'm not much of a big "non mainstream RPG" player I guess. Would the Mario and Luigi series count, 'cause that's all I can think of.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines and Demon's Souls. Also Torchlight is quite good, if that counts.

Mostly NIS titles, like Makai Kingdom, La Pucelle Tactics and Phantom Brave, I guess.
Also the Disgaea franchise, but I guess that's kinda mainstream and doesn't count.
I'm also currently in to Sakura Wars 5.
It's really weird but pretty cool.

I also love most of the Shin Megami Tensei games.
Most recently played through Devil Summoner 2, which is a pretty damn good game, I must say.

Persona 4 is my favorite game of all time so I'll that. Hell, I've never played a bad Shin Megami Tensei game. I'm also quite partial to the Disgaea series with Disgaea 2 as my favorite, the Ar Tonelico series, the Tales of series, the Super Robot Taisen series, Skies of Arcadia and White Knight Chronicles.

Hmm RPG that i liked that was not mainstream or made by aformenitoned companies...well if it doesn't have to be a Video Game, then i pick Rifts. If it does have to be a video game, then i might have to say Mount & Blade. M&B is pretty unknown to America (face it anything that makes it to America is considered Mainstream)

I wouldn't consider Bethesda to be mainstream. But they became popular, so I guess I have to now...
