I love games using a real Orchesatra for their soundtracks. And I have bunch to like in my mind but currently the best I can think of is World of Warcraft's soundtrack from all expansions.

Oblivion and Skyrim have fantastic Orchestral soundtracks.

Jeremy Soule just has that magic touch with epic Orchestral soundtracks.

Skyrim has a great orchestral soundtrack. Halo is a close second, though I'm also partial to some of the orchestral tracks the Soulsborne games and Mass Effect use.

Guild Wars 2. Jeremy Soule is a god of gaming composers. Wonder if he'll ever do a film soundtrack...

In his previous compositions, it was fairly easy to spot his style, but Skyrim was impressively varied and a whole new ball game. Some of the tracks (including 'Secunda') made it into Classic FM's hall of fame.

I really liked Dante's Inferno actually. I thought it was a really fun God of War clone. I know I'm very much in the minority with that opinion, but I enjoyed it none the less.

Speaking of, the GoW music was quite epic and awesometastic.

Climbing the New Antalya Apartment building in Dying Light, there are two weird noises going on: you can hear a child crying at the top, and you hear Chopin's Nocturne in C Sharp playing on a radio somewhere. It's one of the few times when the game actually gets a strange, creepy atmosphere.

It's the best, most unique part of the game... provided you haven't gotten past a certain point in the story and know what's really at the top.

I actually liked Dante's Inferno too. The visuals were simply amazing!

OP: Also if I remember correctly, Dragon Age usually has good music. Mass Effect too. Bioware games in general, come to think of it.

Those title screens still give me chills...

How is Zelda Ocarina of Time music a Spoiler?

Anyway thats not even using a Real Orchestra. Its all done on a computerized synthetic keyboard.

THIS is a ZELDA ORCHESTRA:

As much as I find the gameplay in them pretty shit (love the universe and lore though), Halo soundtracks are always great. ODST being my favourite. Not just in terms of it's fantastic and unique score, but also for being so down to earth and having a more human story (even if you could still flip a tank and kill Brutes with a few punches as a normal human).

Skyrim's is pretty great, although I use a music mod that adds dozens of new tracks (Additional Music Project) that I find pretty amazing. The mod''s music itself probably isn't actually an orchestra, but bloody well sounds like it is. Here's a taster:

The Tales of series was the first thing that came to mind... Sure, it sometimes mixes the orchestral with both rock and electronic, but damn did I not love listening to those tracks while playing Symphonia, The Abyss, or Xillia...

Other than that, the remastered Kingdom Hearts music sounded there was a live concert playing throughout the gameplay...

I love the orchestral version of Windwaker, but since that's only one movement in a piece devoted to Legend of Zelda, I don't think it counts. It really saddens me that they didn't update the score to be orchestral in the WiiU version.

It's already been said, but both Skyrim and Oblivion have fantastic orchestral scores. Three of my notable favourites haven't been mentioned yet though:
Listening to that while wondering a night time tundra is one of the most peaceful experiences in gaming and for me, it never gets old.
The title pretty much sums it up.
The Witcher 3 also has an excellent orchestral soundtrack.
The expansion is particularly great:
Chills every time.

Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim (basically anything Jeremy Soule touches) all have amazing soundtracks.

Pretty much all of the Bungie Halo games have pretty kick-ass soundtracks. I'd probably say that 2 and ODST were my favourite.

The Witcher 3 had a really cool soundtrack that was pretty unique among ye olde medieval RPGs. Priscilla's song is probably one of only a handful of songs from a game that nearly brought me to tears first time hearing it.

The Soulsborne games also have some real bangers, with DkS3 looking to be no different. I especially liked Bloodborne's soundtrack for how foreboding and somewhat restrained it sounds. To me, even the more intense tracks sound almost like they're being restrained or held back, which really adds to the tension when you listen to them.

Darkest Dungeon also has some pretty killer themes.

Monster Hunter.

From humble beginnings...

To intense fights with rivals, both old and new...

To taking on beings that people think of as gods...

To creatures that are simply interpreted as some force of nature...

Considering it's got 10 years worth of active development and a host of different composers working with budgets well beyond most other studios, it doesn't even seem fair to compare other games to World of Warcraft in terms of orchestral soundtrack.

Still that's exactly what I'm going to do. Otherwise most recently Witcher 3 really impressed me with its soundtrack.

Gotta add another vote for Monster Hunter, but I also gotta be one to throw Kid Icarus Uprising into the ring. There are so many good songs, all really well done with a full recorded orchestra for nearly all of the soundtrack. Incredible stuff for sure. The boss theme is legendary for me, absolutely wonderful
