Either that, or anything from the film Daredevil or a load of stuff from The Watchmen

I can't believe no-one has said this yet, but "The Dubliners - Raglan Road" From In Bruges. The way it's incorporated into the scene is incredibly moving, and it's a great film anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ENVtV1MTWg

The movie is mediocre at best, but this is arguably Slim Shady's best song.
I've to agree - while I do prefer Rabbit Run from the soundtrack, I'm pretty sure that song doesn't actually appear in the movie. And this is one of the best songs from my favorite artist, so yeah, I'll just back it up and say "nice pick".

For the record I do think the movie's better than mediocre.

Hunchback is one of my favorite disney films (mabye thats the nostalga speaking) and I persoanlly think its underated

I men yes its quite dark...and uhh yeah other stuff, but I think its one of disneys best

I mean if anything I honestly think its THE BEST opening seaquence of any disney film...you know with the snow and the light on the cathedrall..amazing

you I think the problem was as you said with the gargoyles they still wanted it to apeal to children...but its still a little dark, so its awkwardly in between, also because audiences just wouldnt accpeted a mature animated film made by DISNEY of all people

youd never get somthing as edgy as that from disney again...:( which is kinda sad
To me, the Gargoyles always made sense... up to a certain point.

When you think about it, seeing as Quasimodo has been alone his entire life and the only person he interacts with is constantly verbally abusing him, it's not too strange that his mind conjures up some imaginary friends. And each one of them sort of represents this symbol that keeps his mind semi-sane. One is playful and michievous, the other is composed and moralistic, and the last is more of an old mentor type character.

And the fact that whenever Frollo shows up the gargoyles are simply stone statues, that Frollo mocks when Quasimodo calls them his "friends".

Ofcourse this is more or less swepted to the side when the gargoyles actually start interacting with other characters besides Quasi. Which is a shame because it could've been an interesting aspect of Quasimodo's psyche, while at the same time filling the quintessential "funny sidekick aimed at kids" bit.

Oh, I adore that movie. If you liked that movie as much as I did, you should really watch Corpse Bride. Trust me on this one.
Maybe I will! One of my friends got all obsessive about it a while ago, so I might have to find out what he was on about.

Damn good song, though I prefer Marilyn Manson's version.

I just posted the original because it was the one that was actually from a film.

Yeah, I totally agree and spot on with the gargoyle problem. Sadly, it's rare to even see any Western 2D animated films at all these days. Fortunatly Pixar continue to do awesome stuff under Disney though.

Just for something you've never heard before (based on the number of vids and viewson this one):

The ending credits music from the 2003 movie "Young Adam"
I only turned on the TV on the last 10 minutes and caught this song and immediately googled the lyrics.
HEY! Thanks for that! I love these music threads... I always find something I like that I never heard before.

The Outsider by A Perfect Circle, from Resident Evil: Afterlife.
We Hate You Please Die by Crash and the Boys, from Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World.
Fun fact, that was actually supposed to be Last Song Kills Audience!

OT: Threashold by Sex Bob-Omb from the same movie!
I actually knew this, but it will always be "We Hate You Please Die" to me. And yes, Threshold is awesome. So are all of Sex Bob-omb's songs really.

What do you mean, not a great film? It's one of my favourites of the 90s era of Disney genius.
Don't get me wrong, I liked it. I think just a lot of small things prevented it from greatness for me. Like the gargoyles... I barely remember to be honest, I haven't seen it in like 5 years.
I always considered the gargoyles to be the projections of his subconscious, animated in his mind to relieve him of the intense loneliness he would have grown up with.

It's interesting too what their personalities say about him, since one was a woman, one was gay, and the other was into bestiality XD

There's a not so known movie called "the gentlemen broncos" which features the song "paranoid" by black sabbath.
Yes it's a rather mainstream song, very well known loved by thousands. But it's played in a scene where a teenaged boy in a dress drives into a bookstore and punches a man in the face.......THAT makes the song that much more enjoyable
