MG-42.

Revolutionise warfare much?

Or if your talking bigger stuff, the Flak 88 for sure.
I mean it can kill tanks.
It can kill aircraft.
It can be used as artillery.

I want it for christmas.

Either the British Sten or the Russian PPsh-41 will be good as main arms. I've killed enough people with the Tommy Gun and the MP40 already, and the M3 Grease Gun has never really been a favorite of mine (style preferences - it looks too much like a Machine Pistol to me, and doesn't seem to have much of a stock, which is something I would be interested in having). I will also be accepting a Colt M1911 as my sidearm, since I can't think of any shotguns that were used in WWII.

The guns of the era, naturally....

The G43 is a thing of beauty. It's brilliantly engineered for its time, highly reliable, accurate and easy to operate. German soldier praised it for its functionality, and it looks excellent.

Hard to look away from the StG44, such a revolutionary gun, it became the template for the modern Assault Rifle.

MG42 is a sweet sweet thing, I adore it and it's my favorite MG without a seconds doubt.

But the PPSH... Damn it, the PPSH is the winner in my mind. Awesome thing.

Jaranja says: I like the PPSH too!

Oh. I forgot about that one. Cool, I'll take one of those then (if I can, I'll still take the 1911 as a backup in addition to the SMG and the Shotgun). Thanks!

I really want to get my hands on one... On the plus side, if my friend ever gets DOWN here, we're going to rent the Thompson at the local range. =D

The DeLisle carbine

Designed during the war, only 130 or so ever built. Reputedly one of the only guns that comes anywhere near the ideal of truly "silenced." A combination of a modified SMLE action, a modified .45 Thompson barrel, Colt .45 magazines and an enormous custom supressor. Accurate, genuinely stealthy, a damnably elegant solution.

A stealth badass.

When in doubt..... Wall of bullets.
I'm sure it would........... Whatever it is. To post an image type an opening bracket, then image then a forward slash then a closing bracket. Put the URL of the pic next and the the same thing with the brackets at this end, but with the slash on the left.

Hope it helps! :)

DeLisle carbine. Suppressed .45 carbine built out of a SMLE stock and bold, a Thompson barrel that was ported, a custom suppressor integrated with the barrel, and a M1911 magazine.

Joke though it may be, that was actually my first thought. I've not seen that particular image before though? From whence did it originate?

Also, my vote goes for this:

The 'Schwerer Gustav' railway artillery gun is, as far as I am aware, the largest gun to ever be fired in combat. Hey, I only saw 'gun' in the title. Why are you all so stuck on small arms? Come on, this is the size of ammunition the thing fired, for Pete's sake:

M1911 hands down, over a century of combat service since it was adopted and it's STILL one of the best hand guns for your money. It's still in active service with the Marine Corps and other service branches as well, these pistols are lean, mean bad guy killing machines.

Either that or the M-1 Garand, wonderful weapon, the BAR is fanfreakintastic as well

My would have to be the only WW2 era firearm I've personally fired the M1 Garand. The M1 and an AK74 (semiauto version) are my favorite rifles that I have ever fired.

Even though it barely missed WW2, this beauty is still my favorite handgun of all time, even over the SAA:

From WW2, however, it would have to be either the Tommy Gun or the MP40. I also rather liked the Sten, just for how different it looked and acted...

Seriously? Nobody said the MP-43/Sturmgewehr-44 yet?

Not the most widely used firearm in WW2, but definitely the best automatic rifle. Oh wait, my mistake: the only one.
Look at the 6th post
Well, I certainly look silly now, don't I? :)
