Your favourite 40k race?

For me, it's divided between the youngest and the oldest races- Tau and Necrons.

Tau because I've always sympathized with their (relative) altruism in an uncaring galaxy, and they are simply awesome.

Necrons because I know they will win in the end... especially when this happens.

Who's god is that supposed to be? I'm guessing the gold dude is the emp...??

That is one of the C'tan gods of the Necrons called the Void Dragon, and he is special in that he can control machines. He is currently imprisoned in a labyrinth deep below the surface of Mars, placed there by the Emperor around the time of the Bronze Age.

The most commonly held belief is that the Machine God which is worshiped by the Adeptus Mechanicus is the Void Dragon, and that when the Void Dragon breaks free from his prison he will take control of every single Imperial vehicle, from Leman Russ tanks, to Warmaster titans, to Imperator starships. This will be the defining moment of the galaxy, for when the machines of the Imperium turn against it, there will be slaughter unlike anything seen before.

Orkz, Necrons, or Tau.
Orkz because they're simply awesome, battle crazy mofo's who jump with joy when they can fight. Plus their cobbled together, simple yet effective technology is something I always liked.

Necrons because, as said before, they're the W40k's version of the Terminator. They're ruthless, cold and efficient.

Tau because they seem to be such a peaceloving, feel-good race, but while they act all nice and "For the Greater Good", they have railguns behind their backs. You don't threaten railguns.

I'd have to say Necrons. Robots that are hard to kill are awsome, and even awsome-er when they have guns that strip flesh from bone.

Alongside them we have Space Humans, Space Orks, Space Elves, Space Bugs... actually, I guess the Necrons are kinda cool too. But I have a Tau army, and they seem to kick a very great deal of ass.

Original? Aren't they just based on ancient Chinese/Japanese civilisation?
I'd have to go with either Imperial Forces cos they're so damn righteous or Tyranids cos they're cute.

i don't particularly have a favorite faction.

the any marines, the guard, and the tau are pretty straight forward apart from the fact chaos can go 'I'M A DRAGON'

necrons seem to have not a lot to offer but are backed up by hideously powerful units... unless your necron lord gets trapped behind enemy lines and your enemy builds 50 heavy bolter turrets around him... at least you have a green jolly giant tesla coil.

the eldar besides the fact that they have a massive man made of fire are not a good race simply because if you paint them shiney white and green you get the FILTHY AEONS! and i'm better at pumping out spiders with lasers than most.

so i guess the award for choice dawn of war faction goes to the orkz for being bland but lulzy.

Granted they are based primarily on the caste system of ancient India, but they are original in that they are not just the same old fantasy race with a 'space' theme tacked on. In addition, they have the canibalistic Kroot and the hive-minded (*cough*useless*cough* Vespids which add quite a bit to the Tau as a side- All the other races being apparently too xenophobic to ally with useful races.
