My teacher was spouting that you can't trust the internet and that anyone can go and post their own stuff and that if you don't know the person how can you take what they say as being true and i responded: "do you know the guy that writes our text-books then sir"
To which he had no good response lol

Not heard a decent come-back to that yet

That's simple, is a man dog? No, so the comparison may not be drawn.

Also: all comparison's are of 2 different things so yes, yes it may
Is the skeletal structure of a manatee that of an elephant? no but you can still compare them to illustrate why some things are as they are

But the laws of citizenship do not apply to a dog, while they do to a man.

What are animal rights then?
But yeah i see your point, a dog and a man do not equate in a great many fields
That doesn't mean you can't compare them
And i put to you that you only ever compare things that do not equate, in order to highlight the difference between them and demonstrate whatever point you're making

The manatee elephant thing is relevant, but the whole dog thing doesn't fit. If someone is British it means they are from Britain, no? It has nothing to do with a species.

But yeah this is the point that was being made. Mon pere (my father in French? yes/no?) was just saying that there's more to being British than simply being born here, in his opinion. He was saying that simply having a piece of paper that says "British" on it doesn't make you British. It's a tawdry thing that only old people care about but whatever lol it was just an argument where the guy being argued against didn't have anything to come-back with.

Because it assumes that the only reason anybody plays Guitar Hero is because they can't play guitar, which is on par to with saying no one plays DDR if they know how to dance.

there is one major difference between really playing a guitar and really joining the army - the lack of getting killed.

Because it assumes that the only reason anybody plays Guitar Hero is because they can't play guitar, which is on par to with saying no one plays DDR if they know how to dance.

I think there are more people who play guitar hero that can't play guitar then there are people who can play guitar who also play guitar hero to be fair though
