At a grand total of 16 megabytes, 1000 Amps [http://store.steampowered.com/app/205690/] is a Metroid II-esque platformer that deserves a lot more praise than it got.

Sim Tower? That thing was tons of fun once I got going. Though I'll admit I think I didn't understand all the mechanics that well. One of my collection of all the old Sim games.

The glorius 14KB or original DOS Tetris. All hail the majesty of 4 Blocks of Existence!

Seriously, still the best game ever in my pinion.

SMT2 is way below that from what I remember so it'd have to be that. More interesting and playable than quite a lot of dungeon crawlers today.

Just one? But there are so many good ones.
How about a compromise? Say, top 3? 5?

If just one, I'd say Quadnet at 488kb
Loads of fun. check it out: http://www.martinmagnusson.com/games/quadnet/

Some other great games under 100 mb.
3030 Deathwar
Dwarf Fortress
Transcendence
Terraria
Eternal Daughter

Pretty much any non-CD based console in the 90s and earlier would've had games smaller than that so my pick would probably be Super Metroid. If we're just going PC though I'd have to go with The Binding of Isaac. Less than 40 megs and I have a good 300 hours in it. Would have more if my current computer would play the damn thing.

-Muri 50 MB

I have many other games, but I don't know how many MB they have even they look very "light".

What a great idea for a thread! I'll say Terraria. I've had so much fun with that game when playing with friends - it's just great to play 'seriously' and mess around on. Plus, it's always a nice feeling to explore new content in updates, there's been so many 'Oh my God, look what I just found guys!' moments.

100 megs? ok.

Starcraft 1 fits in 90 megs if you take the lean version.
Settlers 2 is 80 megs.
Heroes of Might and Magic 2 is 60 megs if i remmeber correctly.

Return fire is around 23 megs and provides great fun with your friends (gets boring in singlepalyer as AI only does defence)

Bomberman is.... i dont know how much but it fits on a floppy so its way under 100 and damn we had endless fun with that.

Dwarf Fortress.
Seriously, you download it in a 10 megabyte file, and then you build a entire freaking world from that. It's F***ing epic.

Papers Please? No seriously, all of you need to give me your papers, I have gotten reports that you have expired expiration dates and false information on your country of origin. Now you can either talk to me or the nice men with guns right behind me....your choice.

Glory to Kolechia.

I joke, but yes, that game is depressing, but in a morbidly good kind of way.

Hmm how about
Gunpoint - Because using springpants to jump two stories and smashing through a window to take out a guard is fun.
Iji - Good Shooty platformer.
Another Dwarf Fortress suggestion 'cause of were-elks.

Huh, Daggerfall is disqualified by a whopping 40 megs.

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is a decent RPG game for around 20-30 megabytes.

Clocking in at a 1.28 MB: Scorched Earth. Really fun game that I dare to say, ahead of it's time. It had 8 diffirent A.I. patterns and the game pretty much calculated where the missiles would strike base on power, wind speed and such.

Master of Magic. I've played hundreds and hundreds of hours of it and I'd probably say it's my favorite game, period. I think it's ~25 MB.
