Why are we hiding? Final Fantasy IX rocked.
Because most people here think JRPGs are the devil.
Ah.
Anyway, I forgot to add The Luggage, if anyone gets that reference...

Only ally I picked up on every play through.
And don't forget Grampy Bone! :D

Dog Meat from 1 was sweet too, and also the sentient Deathclaw and Marcus

Republic Commando squad. Man those guys were so helpful.

Ever been a game since then in which your squad could revive YOU? (or ignore you and keep fighting if you tell them to)

They were awesome.

Also Tomi Undergallows and Daelan Red Tiger. Henchmen from the first Neverwinter Nights. Tomi was the most useful little lock picking halfling EVER. Daelan was just too badass for words.

Max the rabbit is indispensible.

I also like Garrus Valkarian from Mass Effect. He may not be as tough as Wrex but also doesn't take any crap. I use both of them to wreck shop.

What madness causes you to reference this game and not mention Deekin? Adorable little kobold, he was. Grimgnaw was absolutely badass as well, enough so to be referenced as a villain in a follow-up expansion. And speaking of adorableness: Nordom from Planescape: Torment. He is a clicking box with a plastercine face, and I want a modron of my own to ruin and run chaotic because the result is so huggably, confusedly cute. But mentioning Torment just ends the thread, because every supplemental character is so well-defined and awesome (with the possible exception of Fall-From-Grace).

Honorable mention goes to Agro. Such a brave, loyal fictional animal...

Yeah I think the Deathclaw's name was Goris? Him and Marcus were cool as well, I just thought I should narrow it down.

Keeping Dogmeat alive in the later stages was a game in itself. Damn those mutants.

Kai was awesome. Except for her ending speech, which was so out of character. But you know a sidekick's awesome when there's stretches you just don't care about the protagonist any more and are just hoping to see Kai be more awesome.
Heh, it's funny. I have the exact opposite feelings for the little freak. For me, every time she's on screen was an exercise in patience and endurance, but then again, I'm not a fan of fps. (and I don't think i've ever thrown my controller as much as that stupid escort quest with her and Shen)

For me, it has to go to the ever loving Minsc from the Baldur's Gate series. Followed closely by Deekin.

- "Fox, that's one of ours!" "Husky Unit, cover the base!"

- "Yoshimo is willing."

- "Minsc and Boo stand Ready."

- Aaand... virtually every Red Shirt. Someone's gotta take the bullets. Or lazers.

Not a sidekick, but those Tesla Troopers are so cute...

Tanya is Kick Ass, and I can't wait to see her in action in Red Alert 3...
Ho. Lee. Crap. I TOTALLY forgot about Tanya after Red Alert! Good call!
