Fight Club because it made my friends go "WHAAA-?" Just totally crazy. And I don't care that I have been ninja'd to death on this post.

Oh, man, don't even ask; there are so many that I can't even think of them all. I'd be here forever just gushing about things I like. So I'll narrow it down to just a few that popped into my head first:

Dawn Of The Dead (The OG, Romero version, although the remake is good too.) Actually let's put Night and Day up here too.
Casablanca
Psycho
Rear Window
The Shining
2001: A Space Odyssey
Toy Story Trilogy
The Hitcher (again, OG version. Fuck the remake.)
Planet Terror (from Grindhouse)
Prince Of Egypt
Joyeux Noel
And, lest we forget the obvious, Sleeping Beauty

I can't be bothered with a list. If I had to choose one, I guess it'd be The Crow. Different as it is from any other film that I like, it's been an enduring favourite since the first time I saw it nearly 15 years ago.

Apollo 13
  • I love it because of the overcoming of what you'd think would be minor and surmountable obstacles. Additional things that make it my favorite are the acting performances of Tom Hanks and Ed Harris, as well as it being a true story.
Schindler's List
  • I love happy endings, and this one made me work for it. I never watched it for three years and planned on never watching it, until I learned it was about a guy saving people from Nazis as opposed to being about Nazis. Regardless, I don't watch it often.
Forrest Gump
  • Again Tom Hanks brough a lot to it, and I sympathized with the simple character for observing fantastic situations and not understanding simply because of his state of mind. I sympathize because in my childhood before I turned ten, the Sovient Union Dissolved, Hubble was launched, many wars started and ended, and then my Grandpa died.
I've come a long way since I was a child.
The Incredibles
  • I contend that this is one of the best animated movies in existence, Brad Bird brought so much to the table with a crazy fun story and awesome design and artistic choices. I've seen it probably 15 times and I always see a detail I've never seen before.
Spirited Away
  • What's not to love about Spirited Away? I ask you.
Beauty & The Beast
  • Again, phenominal animation, character design and staging. But the music is usually what drives it home for me.
Thinking of which, all of these movies have very good musical direction, if you recall.

If you look at my list of favorite movies one could summarize with Miyazaki, plus some shit... Hayao Miyazaki's films take up minimum 7 slots on my top 20 movies list at any given time. Nausicaa and Princess Mononoke have held strong at numbers 3 and 1 (respectively) for a good many years now (My other favorites of his being Kiki, Howl, Spirited Away, Laputa and Totoro). That doesn't comprise all of my favorite anime films, the list also including Paprika, Tekkonkinkreet and The Girl Who Lept Through Time.

My number 2 spot I'm pretty sure will always be Men in Black, and that era of Will Smith movies will always hold a place in my heart (Aw, hell no I don't forget that I know all the lyrics to Wild Wild West and will recite them at the slightest prodding).
Old Schwarzeneggar films are also favorites, my personal list being: Predator, Commando and Last Action Hero, though the Terminator films are always fun.
Films I grew up with, like The Brave Little Toaster, Gremlins, The Lion King and a lot of others will always be favorites of mine.
As a die hard Where the Wild Things Are fan, I have to mention the film adaptation, which I rather enjoyed.
Jackie Chan films never cease to entertain and amaze me.
Also, Josh Kirby... Time Warrior!
I like Wes Anderson.

That's just a bit of what comprises my favorite movies. There are a lot on the list. What's key for me, in a favorite, isn't necessarily that it's "good" by general standards. I don't watch movies to feel intelligent. When I watch movies, I want something that I will love to come back to and watch again for the sheer pleasure and entertainment value. It's the reason why classically "good" films that I enjoy aren't necessarily on my list of favorites, because while I thought they were good movies, I'm not all that inclined to watch them again. That's fine, and I still like those movies, but they'll never be a favorite in the same way Men in Black always will be, because I can't watch them up to 7 times in a year.

~Monty Python's: Life of Brian (Hilarious parody of 'Brian' being confused with being the Messiah that Jesus is supposed to be)
~Monty Python's: Quest for the Holy Grail (The jokes and punchlines were quite hilarious)
~Ben-Hur (1959 Film that took 3 VHS tapes to watch. It was the most Epic movie I've ever seen, totally trumps any movie I've seen come out in the last 2-3 years)
~Star Wars Episode 4, 5, and 6 (I watched these as a kid so many times that my mum knew what Jabba the Hutt was saying without even being in the room to read the subtitles)
~The Matrix (Was one of the coolest movies I had ever seen when it first came out in theaters)
~Clerks (Kevin Smith's first successful film that made him the known director he is today. Is way better then Clerks 2)
~Space Balls, Blazing Saddles, Men in Tights (All 3 directed by one of the funniest Jewish men of all time, 'Mel Brooks'. Each one containing a good dose of his humor)

For me my favorite movie is a toss up between Ralph Bakshi's Wizards and Big Trouble in Little China. Both are very under-rated films.

After those two the rest of my top five would include: The Secret of Nimh, Blazing Saddles, and Dog Soldiers.

I'd have to say Gladiator or We Were Soldiers. If I could only pick one though, Gladiator. That ending is the only scene ever that tears me up every time. The way they portray Maximus's passage from our world to Elysium was masterfully handled.
