Nicholas Barker, seriously listen to his drumming on Old Man's Child, "The Defiance of Existence".

As soon as I get my drum set I'm going to learn those songs.

Gene Hoglan from Strapping Young Lad. He is a big dude that sounds like a machine.

Keith Moon of the Who. Just insane, both in ability and character.
Also the inspiration for Animal on the Muppet Show.
This is true, Moon's legacy is that great.

I was going to say him, but I listen to a lot more metal nowadays, so I listed my current tastes. Keith was the one who inspired me to pick up the sticks, though. The drum solo on Cobwebs And Strange is still one of my favourite parts of any songs.
Yeah, that's a great solo. Strange song, but great solo. My favorite would have to be the solo in Happy Jack.

Neil Purt of Rush
Firstly, Peart, not Purt. Secondly, it's not even pronounced like that, it's pronounced 'Peeurt'.
Anyway, the above, and Keith Moon. Oh, and Taylor Hawkins from the Foos.

Gene Hoglan. That guy is a fucking machine. There's no way any human could nail the double kicks that fast.

Sorry to tell you man but he didnt actually play, he faked it!
Keith Moon did not fake his drumming. Just because you probably can't pass Won't Get Fooled Again on Rock Band doesn't mean you go around starting rumours like that. It's just like people who diss Dragonforce. Keith Moon is the best.

Neil Purt of Rush and the guy from Def Leppard i cant remember his name. He has one arm and can still play drums pretty good. Then Dave Grohl when he play in Nirvanna.
It's actually spelled Neil Peart, but yes, him. He is pretty much a god as far the drums are concerned.
