Now. This may seem a bit of a weird question, especially comming from someone who is English too as it may seem quite vain, but I recently realised that quite alot of people, many of whom are American, freaking love the UK.

For instance, my Spanish friend's favourite thing about the UK, is that we can all take a joke. Which I'd have to agree with.

It can be anything, from accents to brown coloured beverages.

Oh, and just to throw this out there: Don't flame.
I like the face that your country has created a list of people who cannot enter the UK. That is a good thing to have. Also, the people in the UK seems to be very cultured and respectful of everyone else.
The more intelligent of us are, yes. But you wouldn't believe the amount of people who seem so intelligent and sensible that'll comment about "bloody pakis". Ah, god, there's very few phrases that can make me cringe, and that's one of them.
Excuse my stupidity but what is a Pakis? I live in the usa.
Its better to not know, "Paki" is a racial slur used by intollerent and frightened morons against people from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, etc. If you are ever here in Britain and you hear someone start a sentence with "I am not racist, but..." just zone out and stop listening, its better not to enable these people... remove their crowd, remove their voice, remove their ingnorance.
I see. That is a shame there are assholes in such a lovely and cultured country. I try to be cultured but in America if you are smart you are an outcast.
Yeah, they mostly support a party called the BNP and I have just found out that they have got an MEP in Yorkshire... If they get into power dont be surprised if the next "Hitler" comes from Britain, I am going to join a revolution.
They are Xenophobic. I don't think they will round up and kill Middle Eastern people in the UK like Hitler did to the Jewish people. We have Xenophobes like that here in America as well.

Also, I know the royal family are figureheads and that the Prime Minister runs the UK but do the royal family have any influence on the decisions the Prime Minister makes?
Check this link:

Its disturbing.
Won't the BNP see this documentary and try to kill the guy? Also, with the tapes can't the British police place Nick Griffin and the others under investigation until they find evidence?

Why do they hate Middle Eastern people? For exactly what reason? They are no better than the KKK.
All of the documented evidence that they got from this show was submited to the police, its a bloody shame there are people like this.

From living in Britain, I generally see it as a messed up, socially declining island that tries to stand proud on old traditions and values. As a whole, we're a celebrity driven, arrogant, greedy, collection of some of the worlds most foolish people. We're led by those who've been on their pedistal too long, who take from their own contituencies without remorse and have somehow, been granted special powers to evade immediate firing and presumably prison time, like those they are suppost to lead are left to.
It's a nation which is devolving into more crime, knifing and untargeted attacks and murders, where the police haven't the resources or powers to really carry out any meaningful preventions other than the "Move along" card. If you have tens of thousands of fit, economically active people claiming dole because they can't be bothered working you know when you have a problem, and still, virtually nothing more than words have been spoken to address it.

Well, this is Manchester anyway.

Anything about British lifestyle anyone foreign believes, is a dying part of Britain, so say hello to the lawless, selfish, idiotic nation of tomorrow.

Britain has some amazing rock bands, both past and present. Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Muse, Snow Patrol, The Who, Led Zeppelin and Queen, just for a start. (Although, yes, Freddie Mercury was from the colonies)

We had some great things going for us - dogged resistance in the face of fascism, both against the Nazis and against our own National Front. A great stoic national personality, able to take (and complain incessantly about) damn near everything.

But since Thatcher we've had the soul stripped out of the country. Our politicians are corrupt and even in the midst of the expenses scandal they still try to find the way out that keeps ol' Gordon at the top. The one good thing our government has done in this regard is the Freedom of Information act, and that was designed so we could slag off the Tories. And they, after introducing it, fought for years to prevent us from actually exposing any of their faults. Lucky for us our judges aren't always to be intimidated.

Our government continues (probably not now the expenses scandal's erupted) to introduce legislation for "national security" and then uses it for the least appropriate things - for example, as already mentionned, to rape Iceland after their banks failed.

And our people aren't necessarily anything to be proud of any more. We have a hell of a lot of chavs, as well as the BNP and all its friends. After decades of fighting fascism, it's starting to creep in. They have a right to exist and speak, but it's sad that so many listen to them.

Ugh, sorry, I want to move to Sweden.

That said, I don't think I'd be able to go anywhere else and be able to rely on getting a decent cup of tea. I mean, seriously.

The ability to take large amounts of tax money out of paychecks, hidden in the prices of products and fees and pretend what it pays for is free. The UK has a great sense of imagination.
