Your first car and how you lost it

A short explanation:

My first car was given to me, it was a Skoda Felicia in a metallic green. It was very nice, despite their reputation.

On June 3rd this year the aforementioned car was written off when a moron pulled out of a crossroads into my line.

I was more than a little upset.

So: tell me what your first car was and how you lost it. Did you sell it? Did you crash it? Did you take it to a wasteland and burn it for insurance fraud?

We do have a multicultural society here, as some of the more awake readers will have noticed, so pictures to explain to the average British what a Cadillac is and vice versa in respect to Americans and a Rover.

Also: Shane, if you're reading this, you're a dick for writing my car off.

My first car was a dreadful little Fiat Seicento in baby blue. My dad picked it out and I had it for two years. Two years of being embarrassed to be seen in it.
I got rid of it back in April, sold it to a dealership and bought a beautiful metallic grey Peugeot 206, 1.4L. Her name's Starbuck and I love her.

Suzuki Swift, a 5-door hatchback you could basically park anywhere. Met its end when the radiator decided to crack itself.

TC, I can feel your pain. My second car, a Mitsubishi Mirage got written off by someone failing to stop at a roundabout. He lost a headlight, while the front end of my car's frame was practically shattered. To make it worse, this happened within a week of putting the final payment on it.

My F-150 has lasted me since the day I got my learner's permit, but I'd be amazed if I got another 50k miles out of it without some sort of explosion occuring. I'm not usually the sentimental sort, but I've grown very attached to my vehicle. Even though it's expensive as all hell, high-maintenance, and has tried to kill me on more than one occasion, I dread the day that I have to replace it... after all, those same qualities haven't stopped me from growing attached to certain women, either.

My first car was a V-reg Fiat Mk2 Punto, Great little car that had a suprising amount of power.... after a string of mechanical problems after about 95k miles on the clock the Timing belt went and decided to take all the valves with it in the ensuing engine breakdown.... so i put another engine in and flogged it (it broke a week later with the new owner XD, thats what you get for ebing cheap and ripping me off in price) i now have a nice 05 Vauxhall Astra SRI 3 door. (Opel Astra for those of you in america)

My first car was a 1968 Toyota Corona. I called it the TARDIS, for three reasons: First, it was the correct shade of blue. Second, I swear it was bigger on the inside than on the outside. It was a tiny car, but so roomy inside! Third, the sound the TARDIS makes is very similar to the sound my car made when changing gears.
I eventually bought a bigger and newer car and ended up selling my ancient one for scrap.

My first car was a 1991 Plymouth Acclaim.

Basically that, but it was brown.

That thing had no radio, the power window didn't work on the drivers side, the starter was busted, and so I had a jury-rigger push button start. The hood was opened with a coat-hanger, which stuck out from under the hood (Lever broke), the fuel line was sealed with spray-on roofing tar, there was no muffler, and the back shocks were way too loose.

I freaking LOVED that car. It never, ever, did not start. Everyone made fun of the car, but I was the one giving boosts, and driving away just fine in the midst of the chilly Canadian winters. I went on a few trips into the ditch with it, and it still never let me down.

I eventually got a new car when I got married. A '98 MAzda 626. The shittiest car I ever owned.

My mom sold the Acclaim for scrap metal after I moved away, since it could never, ever be safetied.

She cried when they pulled it from the driveway.
I probably would have too, if I was there.

It was a true 'first car'. I learned so much driving that thing, and I'll never forget it.

A '97 Red Caviler,had everything just go wrong with it,eventually we gave it to my uncle who owns a auto garage and he sold it.

My first car was a 1988 Volvo 740 gl, it was a 1.3 ton sled in the winter. i had 2 separate accidents with it which ended up making some traffic lights at the side of the road abit bent, the thing that killed it though was a electric error somewhere that could not be found even though i spent a weekend changing different parts on it in the end i had to scrap it. T.T

I had a MK II Escort, 2L, 4 Speed.
I'd just put in a new clutch, new brake pads, had a pretty much brand new set of tyres on it. Also had extractors, new cams and an RS2000 drop tank, new stereo and speakers.
I loved that car, I had fairly low profile tyres on the front and big fat 225s on the back.
It sounded like a beast.

My old man sold it to some guy for $500 while I was at work one day.

These days I drive... nothing currently. I got hit by a drunk driver last week and my car is a wreck

A 1987 vw polo 1300 cc, my fist car ever. 4 speed gearbox, weight is about the same as a small shopping cart, it accelerated like nothing else i've driven.
It met it's end when i hit a mercedes van that did an amergency stop to avoid a colission with a car driving in front of that, i couldn't avoid that van so i hit it with a speed of about 120 km/h and ended up with a 20 cm shorter car next to the road.
