a Commodore Vic 20!
The smaller brother of the Commodore 64... I could not afford the better one :-(

Ok, ok, so it wasn't a console, per se, but I only played games on it. Does that count?

The SNES, I had such good memories of that console. What pisses me off is that my sister took it with her to college and she told me someone stole. Fast foward ten years and it somehow comes up in a conversation and she finally tells me that it wasn't acutally stolen, she sold it.

My first was the PS1, yeah im antique.
Pssh. You kids don't know old. Me (and several other posters, I see) cut our teeth on the Atari 2600. That's right. I had to WAIT to get high tech games like...Pitfall.
I was being sarcastic but since its hard to tell in typing im going to let this one slide. And anyway, im too young to experience the great games of the early consols.

Sega Genesis

And yes yes I have cried since realizing that my parents threw it out. Man tears.
At least your dad didn't steal it from you when you stayed over at his house and then sold it.

Yeah, Genesis was my first, too.

The NES - my first games were Super Mario Bros., and Duck Hunt. Those were good times, but it seems to have become lost due to all the moving I've done, which is so painfully depressing I can't even bear to think about it.

NES was the first console that was in my house.
The 64 was the first console that belonged to me.
The PS2 was the first console I bought with my own money.

if a gameboy counts, then a hand-me-down old gameboy the old blocky ones with pro tennis, pokemon red, tetris, and pokemon pinball. i was 7 at the time so i took that thing everywhere.
but if gameboy doesn't count then the PS1 with crash, spyro, monopoly, and goldfinger. plus it came with a attachable screen so that i wouldn't annoy my parents on long trips, it worked XD
