Honestly, I'm not sure. So lets say it's a toss-up between the NES, the SNES and the Mega Drive.

Of course, the games on those weren't the first I've played. They're just the first consoles.

Good ol' grey PlayStation.
With Spyro 2: Getaway To Glimmer.

Didn't even have a memory card for 3 weeks.

Good times, good times...

NES was the first console I used, but I had a Commodore 64 before that in the house.

Original GameBoy, with Tetris, a dirt racer/track racer combo game, and another one I can't remember... in 1998.

I was mostly a PC gamer until *2003* when I got DUN DUN DUN a PS1. The only console I've got anywhere near its release date is a 360.

Ok probably aging myself and it wasn't necessarily a true console but a VIC 20 with Gorf, Space Invaders and some driving game. Unless of course you count the ultra early "consoles" then it would have to be Radio Shack's "Pong - console."

I feel like an old timer. First game ever: space taxi on Commodore 64. First console, a few years later, was the NES and the first games on that was the Super Mario 1 and Duck-Hunt combi-cartridge, as they came within the NES package (along with the required Zapper for the Duck-hunt).

My first console was the Xbox. My grandfather gave it to me as a present when I was eight with some games, I think the first one I played was Spiderman. My favorite Xbox game by far was Fable that I had discovered a few years later.
Fable is F-ing AWSOME!!! I first played it at a friends house.

If pinball counts, then it was an old computer in about '98.

Otherwise, a Gameboy Color with Pokémon gold. I remember running through to tell my parents when I won the tutorial battle :D

Jack Attack [http://plus4world.powweb.com/software/Jack_Attack] was the first game I ever remember playing on the Commodore 16 Plus/4. But as for the first console and console game, NES - Super Mario Brothers.
