Last year, at Ruisrock, watching Disturbed.
Although it was a pretty short gig, I loved it. And they're coming back to Finland this November. And I have tickets :)

I think I went to a Christian concert or something with my parents. I don't even remember the music it was that long ago. But since then, I've seen some really good bands live, the best being Tally Hall.

My very first was an Iron Maiden concert in 2007 in Bulgaria. Worth every minute of travel time and every penny. Since then I've been to Metallica in 2008 and the Scorpions in 2009.

I haven't been to a concert. I'm not really bothered about music and wouldn't pay the high ticket prices to see some of the bands I would possibly want to see.

I had the opportunity to go to Download festival this year, but I turned it down.

This will probably only mean something to my fellow English countrymen, and even then, only those of a certain age, but anyhoo...

When I was about 7 and still in the Brownies, my troupe were offered the opportunity to go and see some shoddy record company tour. At the time, being largely influenced by my teenage siblings, I was only interested in Metallica and Guns n' Roses, so I was desperate NOT to go and see this mindless shite.

Nevertheless, my mum and sister forced me to go (I think they did actually pull me off the door-frame Looney Tunes style) and it was the most amazingly shitty performance I have ever seen.

Acts included:
Crappy pop quartet, Deuce
Awful boy band, MN8
Peter Andre, just prior to the release of his first UK single
and the headliners were Ant and Dec, back in the days when they were still known as PJ and Duncan.

Fortunately, Ant and Dec's subsequent career as successful TV presenters has meant that I've had a glorious 8 year revenge of constantly yelling "SEEN THEM LIVE!!!" in a high pitched voice whenever they come on screen in my Mother's presence.

That'll learn her.

My first experience was Mayhem Fest.
I can't remember All of the bands, but I'll name a few.
Five Finger Death Punch. (As soon as they started playing I got elbowed in the mouth, which was another "first" for me.)
Suicide Silence. (I was hit by a shoe, belt, and wallet. I wasn't expecting that to happen.)
Airbourne. (Only one person in the crowd was excited for these guys, and she was right behind me. She had big breasts, how did I know? Because as they played, she was jumping, and her breasts were hitting the back of my head. It was awkward.)

The Red Chord. (I fell in love with this band.)
Dragon Force. (meh.)
Mastodon. (They weren't very energetic, and were kind of boring live.)
Disturbed. (My favorite band that played, seeing the entire crowd raise their fists in the air was amazing as well.)
Slipknot. (They probably had the most energetic performance out of the rest of the bands. Giving us the bird, and yelling "FUCK YOU" at us, and other stuff, it was pretty awesome. I also remember a guy in the mosh pit in front of me twisted his ankle all the way around, and cried.)

Taste of Chaos 2009 in Oslo, Norway.
Travelled all over Norway with a good friend and fellow Escapist so we could see In Flames and Killswitch Engage live.
First, there was the supporting bands, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster which were AWESOME, then Dead by April which were meh and then Every Time I die which was okay.

And then it was Killswitch Engage for about an hour and a half, and it. Was. AWESOME!

And then came In Flames, which made the best live experience one can get.

I think I have got the videos of the best quality from that concert on YouTube actually, haven't found any better ones from Oslo.

The next concert I want to go to is a Soilwork concert, but they don't plan on playing in Norway in the near future :(
