The first game I ever owned was The Legend of Zelda. I can't remember the first game I ever played, though I want to say Pac-man.

You people make me feel so old. mine was the Commander Keen trilogy. At the time, it was the hot new thing. *sigh*
What?? That makes you feel old? :D
My first game was either "BC's Quest for Tires II: Grog's Revenge" (wow, never actually knew the correct title, me and my family always called it Grog) for the Commodore 64 or some other game for the C64 where you jump over turtles. Back in 1992 and 1993. I was born in 1990 :D
So I was already a gamer when I was just 2 years old.
Though I barely remember the games. The first game I really remember playing was Duck Hunt and Super Mario Bros for the NES. I was around 4 or 5 then.
I was born in 1980, and was also 2 years old when I first started playing games on the C64. Which, now that I know the C64 came out in 1982, my Dad apparently jumped right on the chance to get one.

Also, the C64 was finally discontinued in 1994. Just a neat piece of trivia.

first ever - the original "Alone in the Dark"

Back when the game had 1/100th of the graphics the current game has, but also 100 times better storytelling/gameplay.

Ladies, gentlemen, miscellaneous. I ask you to cast your minds back. The year, 1996. I was but a small 7 year old boy, jealous of all my friends having the Game Boy. That is, until the day of MY corruption. I remember it like it was yesterday. Christmas day 1996, the first thing I got to open was the brand new Game Boy pocket, so sexy in its sleek size, unfortunately yellow, but what can you do eh? The first game I opened was the original Donkey Kong on Game Boy, the yellw cartridge, the second being Super Mario World: 6 Golden Coins. I couldn't put them down, had DK on pause during Christmas lunch, then carried on playing after eating. The next day I was the one my friends were jealous of, with their ugly fat Game Boys. As a 7 year old would say, "I'm dating A swimsuit model, while your dating the lunch lady" equivelant of handhelds. Odd I can remember that to the exact detail, yet can't even remember how old my little sister is lol

Aside from strange DOS pinball it was Jill of the Jungle, which remains awesome to this day.

Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo Entertainment System.

I can't think of anything that defines "classic" better than this.

The first game I played was Sonic the Hedgehog at my cousin's house. I'm not sure which one it was, but I think it was on the SNES. Or Sega Genesis. I'm not completely sure, it was a long time ago. The first game I actually owned, though, was Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for the Game Boy Color, and my first PC game was Space Quest V.
