Unreal tournament. I thought it was hilarious taking a rocket launcher and blowing up people as a kid. I did turn out to become a normal adult that has never felt the need to harm or assault anyone and nor have I done so (gotta put that last bit in there so some canadian lady doesn't think I'm a psychotic or something...).
Canadian lady? I do not understand this reference and have not been able to google up what you mean.

Depends on what you mean by mature.

Blood and violence were in a lot of games. Most excessively used was in God of War, so I became mostly aware of that aspect with that.

Sex and nudity was probably exposed to me through some random flash games on newgrounds and some obscure japanese mystery game. Something about a boat.

If by mature you mean a game that brings up and deals with mature issues (<- not sure how to define this version of 'mature') then I think it was FF7,8,9 and special mention to Persona.

It's just about that league of legends kid who posted something violent on fb and had a canadian woman call the authorities on him.

I suppose it was Wolfenstein 3D on an old family computer we had. I also remember getting Mortal Kombat 2 when I was very young, but I can't remember which came first.

The original Diablo when I was 4 years old, I could watch my brother play it no problem, but to the mind of a 4 year old even the music was a little scary to me a the time, I came across the dying man at the entrance to the cathedral, he started describing the butcher before dying, and then I just saved and quit and didn't play again until I was 6.
I still enjoy going back and playing it again, my favourite video game soundtrack.

Doom 95, played it at 6 or 7. I remember when my afterschool program got computers, I requested they put doom on, and the day after I showed all the other kids how to play it, it was "mysteriously" uninstalled from all of the computers.

Still got to play it at home though, wakakaka

Difficult. Probably between Red Alert 1 or Return to Castle Wolfenstein 3d. I don't remember much in between.

That would be Heretic, id's successor to Doom. I didn't actually play Doom until I was a teenager, but by basically random chance my dad bought Heretic when I was 7 or 8 and we both played that game for years and years. Great memories watching my dad blast medieval monsters with the ethereal crossbow.

Of course, back in the mid-nineties even the most advanced graphics didn't make for particularly horrifying violence, so anything rated M back then might be a T today. I also played Goldeneye at a young age, but I think I would classify that as a kid's game anyway. Maybe Diablo is the right answer to this question. But I was 12 or 13 when I first played that, and what 13-year-old these days hasn't consumed hundreds of hours of adult media?

Probably Doom... my families first PC had a Shareware Version on it and I played the crap out of it. It was a Windows 3.1 Machine and CD-Rom was still a "new" thing so it must have been like... 1993 or something which would have made me 8ish when I first played Doom.

Diablo or Mortal Kombat.
I like to go with Diablo since MK doesn't interest me much. I always thought the game would be better without its gore fetish. However, I didn't have a Super Nintendo.

Back in the day GTA: London

I don't remember which of the two (1969 or 1961), since I wasn't even aware there where two GTA London games until I googled it just now.

I'm glad GTA moved to 3D
If you've played any of the originals, take off any rose tinted nostalgia goggles you may or may not have and just remember the on foot controls, oh god.
If you thought Niko controlled like a drunken articulated lorry with half it's wheels blown out, then you have no idea.

Rather than just walking forward, you had to accelerate, same story for reverse, and D-pad rotated the player.

Doesn't sound so bad, but it can be very difficult to say, walk down an alley that is thinner than your turning circle.
It's one heck of a fun game, but the controls are a mindfuck at best.

[Edit]

Just so you know, I'm not hating on the game, I've been playing the very first GTA recently and it took me about 2 or 3 days to get reajusted to the controls.
I still love those games.

Doom for me. Didn't really make that much of an impression IIRC since the demons and zombies don't really make much of a reaction when shot/chainsawed, although I remember finding the Cacodemons fairly imposing.

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter for the N64, though, THAT was probably the first game that I wanted to stop playing after a while experiencing the various terrified death screams of human enemies combined with the amount of blood they leave when sent flying with anything stronger than a pistol bullet. Raptors also had this one agonizingly pained death animation that was very long and bloody and reminded me of what I figured roadkill's final moments would be like. I actually felt bad about it!
