when I accidentally deleted my save on banjo kazooie on the N64. I was only a few things left to 100% completion. Since that day, my friend and I have referred to deleting you saves to, "Banjo kazooing your file."

I had a recent one with Far Cry 2. I was about 15 hours into the game, having sunk huge amounts of time into doing the extra missions and unlocking extra weapons and stuff. Then the fucking game suffers an almighty bug which corrupted all of my saves. That was the last time I touched that tedious, nightmare of a game.

I can't remember the very first one, but my most recent is when my Pokémon Platinum developed a bug. It won't let me battle any wild Pokémon or Trainer, it just crashes as soon as the battle starts. 140 hours down the toilet.

Oooh I got another one. Was playing cod 2 on veteran on the silo mission. Basically it was at the end where you have to snipe enemy mortar teams and I had been trying and failing for the best part of 30 minutes. When I finally did it all I had to do was climb down a ladder to finish the mission. Cue me going for the ladder and ending with me breaking my spine from falling off the ladder due to poor controls. NOOOOOOOO. So I had to repeat that part of the mission for another 5 minutes and I did it only to repeat the same fate. This happened 3 times before I finally climbed down. I was so happy when I reached that last rung :').

Lost 30 mins of doing side missions in Just Cause because it crashed

A friend mine had Devil May cry beaten on all difficulties and all items weapons and costumes unlocked when he accidentally overwrote his save ^^

Oh, and a more important one would be when I fell off a cliff whilst skiing, realised I was fine, then realised that my skis had elected not to fall off said precipice with me, rendering them entirely unreachable... I held back my scream of prolonged no-ness until in an area where it wouldn't cause an avalanche.

PS1 memory card corrupted, I lost Final Fantasy VIII, Parasite Eve, Suikoden I and II, Metal Gear Solid, Breath of Fire IV and Final Fantasy V data.

That was roughly 150 or so hours of data lost in an instant of "Noooooo".
