Played mostly Paragon, and rescued Ashley, because, well, Kaiden is annoying. Saved the Rachni queen, because ive read Enders Game, and therefore knew what I was supposed to do in that situation. Did hook up with Ashley, but honestly, it's because not hooking just seemed like a waste, and I don't know how to potentially hook up with Liara. Also, killed Wrex because I didn't have enough Paragon or Renegade at that point to save him (But I tried, I really did!), and I saved the council.

Thought it was awesome when the Asari on Illium passed on the message. I want the Rachni in ME3.

I played as a hybrid (I always play through a game the first time making all the choices based on what I personally would do) but it came out mainly Paragon.

Saved Ashley.
Let the Rachni queen go.
Romanced Ashley (in an attempt to get her to be a bit less racist...that was just annoying)
Saved the council, had to let Wrex die

1)Paragon. All the way. I prefer to play the Paragon route because being a b'stard is easy. Doing the right thing when i'd rather shoot everything in sight is alot more challenging!
2)Saved Ashley. Personally found Kaiden to be dull.
3)Freed Rachni Queen. Just felt right to do so.
4)Yes. Ashley and Liara. One after the other. One STRAIGHT after the other.

I thought renegade was more fun than paragon. I see a lot of people did not like Kaiden. I was ok with him, but I could not stand Ashley. She seemed to think too highly of herself... plus she was kind of racist. I was not all that sad to see her go. I killed the Rachni Queen and the council. Oh, and Wrex never got a chance to take Saren's head because I shot him. I was kind of going all out with the renegade business.

1. i tried to spend THIS game being more of myself than a generic good or bad fuy, until i realised that this wasnt the game to try that. so i went paragon and shoved as many points as possible into charisma. i didnt even look at the response, i just went for the blue one or top right

2. Kaiden. I hate the fact that ashley is so generic, to quote, a "supercilious badass action girl" unfortunately i was using an entirely human team. crap. but she was Christian so... maybe i should have saved her, but then again she was already saved. hehehe

3. let it go to get paragon points, but kaiden really shouted at me for that.

4. liara, but mainly cos i went around the crew getting paragon points, so she assumed my niceness was because i wanted to put my little phaser in her

saved wrex (luckily, as he was my replacement squadmate. why is it always my chosen people that might die?) and killed the council. sacrificed one big ship for 5th fleet to hit the ship

3) I let her live, Commander Shepard can always use more friends.

4) No, Kaiden's asshattery (see above) kinda made that impossible.

1) Paragon or Renegade?
Paragon with a touch of Renegade when it fit my mood/character. Ended with 100% Paragon and about 25% Renegade.

2) Who did you save? Ashley / Kaiden?
Ashley.. but not because I liked the xenophobic *****, I just liked her more than Kaiden in the sense that I thought her superior combat skills would have possibly been more useful later on. If I had the choice, I would have been happy with both of them biting it.

3) What did you do to the Rachni Queen?
Had to think about it for a few minutes but I ended up releasing her. Regardless of what happens in the future, I wasn't interested in being responsible for the destruction of an entire race.

4) Did ya screw your shipmates?
Nope. I'm not against it, but Ashley was a fugly xenophobic ***** and Liara, while not quite as fugly as Ashley, had no personality and was interested in jumping my bones from the first time I talked to her (which I actually found to be quite a turn off). Apparently I didn't quite reject Ashley hard enough though as even though nothing happened between Ashley and I, I still had her picture in my cabin in ME2 (until I started getting serious with Mmmmmiranda anyway).

So - Paragon, saved Kaiden cos I love him (and, cos if you level him up his biotics are very useful) Let the Rachni Queen go and romanced (I don't 'screw' ;-) ) Kaiden.

And Kaiden isn't boring he killed a Turian with a biotic kick for hurting the girl he liked, so there ;-)

Yeah, yeah. Another Mass Effect thread. I know, sorry. I'm just very late to the party.

That said:

I just beat Mass Effect the First, two days ago. My little brother beat it 4 times in the 3 or 4 weeks it took me to play it to the end (I don't spend a lot of time on the computer that's got it installed, and I usually only play for at most an hour at a time).

Late to the party we be, but yeah.

Still, this late to the party, I managed to go into the game knowing pretty much NOTHING about it, other than the fact that you can bang a couple of your crew mates (But then, how many people DIDN'T know about that by the time it was released?). So without spoilers, I played a game that I fairly thoroughly enjoyed, without knowing what my choices would lead me to.

So basically, I'm curious about how you played through the first time. Mostly, I'm interested in three points:

1) Paragon or Renegade?
2) Who did you save? Ashley / Kaiden?
3) What did you do to the Rachni Queen?
4) Did ya screw your shipmates?

1) Paragon, I almost always go through my first playthrough of a game like that being a saint, not sure why, just seems to work out that way. I then do a Renegade playthrough, it's fun to be a dick on Mass Effect.

2) Saved Ashley, the lesser of two evils, they're both mind-numbingly boring.

3) Let her go.

4) Yeah, Ashley, though I thought her and Liara fighting over who gets to sleep with The Shep was funny.

I've played through the game 12 times now I think and have explored a lot of the different combinations of choices and squad mates to use, but I rarely deviate from being an Infiltrator class.

Love that game, after I finish Mass Effect 3 I'm going to start from the very beginning and continuously play through all 3 games.

My first was a mighty long time ago but my most recent (just completed yesterday) I pretty much feel the most connected to.

1. Paragon all the way
2. Saved Kaiden because ashley is a bigot
3. Saved the queen
4. No romance. cuz I'm a Tali fan. Not a weird one though
5. Saved Wrex and the Council. And I now must remember the human ships that were destroy. I feel bad for the 20(?) turian fighters too

1. Paragon, though I sometimes pick Renegade chat options because they are usually a bit more sarcastic.
2. Kaidan. For some reason, I had this feeling Ashley would never forgive me if I saved her instead of Kaidan, and I just couldn't bring myself to disappointing her. I felt like this was her chance to become an 'immortalized' war hero, and I shouldn't take that chance from her. I guess I take this stuff too serious.
3. I released the Rachni Queen. She seemed to realize what got the Rachni nearly extinct, and I believe anyone and anything deserves a second chance.
4. No-one. I told Liara I just wanted to be friends, and I saved Kaidan instead of Ashley.

Be my guest, but the idea for me at least is to start a new character, a new Shepard (change his face too) and just play it how I feel and see how it goes, doesn't matter that I'll know what happens in each game, taking one character straight through all 3 games will be a bit different I think, can't wait for that.
